I also have a Mod Fun. It's a 7'6" Tet CS which is white with the carbon strip. I love that board. Im 6' 210 or so and it's been my favorite board and have had it about 3 years. I've looked at that CI Mid and considered that. Never heard of the CI M23 but checked it out real quick. It just looks a little higher performance than the Mod Fun. Pulled in a little more, sleeker profile, less volume. More of a hybrid between short board and fun shaped. I saw a couple reviews on it: th-cam.com/video/_PLGHbA_8ZY/w-d-xo.html, th-cam.com/video/KqMA8ru291g/w-d-xo.html, th-cam.com/video/ILJodVd4sbU/w-d-xo.html. Seems like a great board. I would like to try one. I was considering getting a Hayden shapes Hypto Krypto or however you spell it but I'm going to have to do some more research on this board. I've always wanted a hybrid like this. I have a 6'6" fish, 7'6" Mod Fun, a 7'10" cheap Isle Surf fun shaped that I just beat on or just paddle for excercise and I just sold my 9 footer and want to get a 9 foot Torq long board. But, the fish is getting pretty old and beat and I want something like a 7'2 hybrid and this CI M23 intrigues me. Might be the board for me.
I’m trying to choose be a modfun, fish and v+. I’m 5”5” 120 pounds. Not surfing super often. Had short board experience in the 80’s, not enjoying long foamies but also super rusty and not super aggressive. Recommend a board and size?
Hi! 8ft boards are always a good starting place for anyone looking to get their first harder board or someone wanting a bit more maneuverability in their surfing, it also offers plenty of stability and control which is ideal for dialing in your skills and getting them mastered, if you're committed and want to push yourself go for a 7' 2 , this will be more maneuverable and responsive.
I’m 5”6 n 140 pounds what would you recommend?? I’ll be doing surf lessons in California n we are having a surf wave pool built in Arizona. So I’m looking for a board I can use for a long time.
Either the Torq mod fun or mod fish will be a great starting place, stable, forgiving but will allow progression to take place. fun boards which can be surfed in a wide range of conditions !
I love my 6“8 Torq Mod Fun. Now I‘m intrigued with the CI M23. How do these two compare in your opinion?
