Wonderful video idea, I'll be looking forward to more of these! I did not get on with Boulder but loved Permafrost so I'm looking forward to reading Mammoth. I did not know there was a new Pineiro coming out, sounds wonderful.
Thank you! I really appreciate the feedback 🙏💛 It's great you'll have read all three of Baltasar's books, I hope you get on well with Mammoth. I've pre-ordered Time of the Flies - can't wait! 🤩
Love the idea of a regular translated/global fiction video Katja! I think the focus on reading only translated works can miss countries where many authors write in English such as India and South Africa so global fiction works well. I was only aware of Mammoth so thank you for highlighting so many new titles, especially the new Jokha Alharthi. I loved Celestial Bodies and although Bitter Orange Tree didn’t work quite as well, I’m really interested in Silken Gazelles.
Hi Katja, I always turn to your channel for translated fiction. Unfortunately, I don’t get along with magical realism, but you have a few here that hits the spot for me. One is the laundromat because I also love stories of community and I also read Elena knows. I read it in Spanish first because I couldn’t get an English copy. And it was a different experience than when I read it in English. It was a very interesting book. I bought Claudia Pinero book boulder but I haven’t read it yet. I was expecting to read it with buddy but the reading fell through. I’ve been reading Japanese mysteries recently translated and having a great time, even though the last one didn’t work for me. It was called pro bono by my new favorite author Seicho Matsumoto. I’m still going to read all of his books that were translated because I lived in Japan for 3 years and loved being back there in the world of hispostwar Japan. I was there in 2003 but many of the street scenes and the customs are still very similar. Have a wonderful time reading. Aloha friend.
Thanks, Arianne. Agreed, CP has such a brilliant style. I'm excited about all the books, but especially for TotF and Canneti's 😊. Also TOtF is now showing a 6 August publication date, so that's 2 weeks sooner than I originally expected ✨️
@PageTurnersWithKatja .. That's a tough question. I've fallen down the rabbit hole. 😄 All Yours by Pineiro, In The Eye Of The Wild by Natassja Martin, Snow,Dog Foot by Morandini, Magma and Quiet Chaos by Veronesi... so far. I have about 19 waiting for me on my bookcase. I have tonget Yoko's new book. I'm always looking to add translated fiction. I'll be following you very closely. Thank you
this was stuck in my held for review folder. i forgot to check which comments have been held by youtube and i can't figure out why this was, I just clicked approve
love the idea of translated tuesday!! this is such a helpful series for somebody doing a read-the-world project!
Thank you, Audrey! 😊💛
I had three of these on my radar! Very hopeful my library picks up at least one on release date!
I also hope you have the tainted cup soon💛. I'm not sure which my library will be getting 🤔 we'll see.

You just reminded me I have Matsumoto's Tokyo Express and still haven't read it! Sounds like I'll enjoy it.
I'm most excited for the Yoko Ogawa!
It sounds smashing 💛✨️
Exciting list! I only knew of Mammoth and Time of the Flies. I'm most excited about Time of the Flies because Claudia Pineiro is brilliant.

Great video Katja, I always like to get more translated lit on my radar!
Thanks, Gemma! 💛
Best wishes with what you choose to read. Close to 850 subscribers. Good luck.
Thank you! I've been at 850 3 x this month, but then it keeps dipping back down 😂
I never really considered reading Korean literature, till I stumbled upon your channel. Some really interesting picks. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Thanks so much! That's brightened my day. What's your favourite book? It doesn't have to be translated fiction :)
@@PageTurnersWithKatja Los pasos perdidos, de Alejo Carpentier. (The Lost Steps.)
Just looked it up, and it sounds brilliant. I've added it to my tbr 🙏
@@PageTurnersWithKatja Oh, wow. Thanks for allowing me to give back. Cheers.
So what is the distinction between a triptych and a trilogy, when it comes to books? 🤔
I think in this case, it's to create a sequence showing different elements of the same subject matter rather than being a continuous story /stories.
@@PageTurnersWithKatja ahhhh, i see!
