    "Be careful, Pa" is the same exact thing I say to my dad. I've been working construction with my dad for 16 years and counting. Him being over 60 years old and climbs along the rafters/trusses and along the top plate of walls still trips me out.
    Mad love for you working with your pops. There's not much of that anymore.

      @@samtour8545 It's not easy for everyone, I never could get used to walking on top of walls, hats off to the dudes that have no balance issues, sometimes you have to be logical, I became the ground guy when it got over a certain height.

      Its not about the balance it's if your confident enough to walk
      Shits pretty scary man especially when ur walking on a 2x4

    Old framer here, we never layed out where the trusses go on the top plate, 24” OC meant 22 7/16” blocks and the blocks automatically put them on layout, the only place where we marked on the plates is if there was a “special” meaning there was a need to put truss in a spot not on layout becouse of something such as a fireplace or skylight or something , oh and we did it all up top, no scaffolding or harness , but sometimes I do wish I had them !

    Matt, how did you attach those tails to the trusses? Nails, screws, lags?

    • @MattBangsWood
      @MattBangsWood  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being completely honest, it's a very stupid detail..
      4x8" block from truss to truss, 4x8" tail coming off of it.. (3) toe nails into the block is all that holds it.
      Instead of using a 2x8" block, and getting solid connection nailing through backside, they want lousy toe nails into 4x8..

    • @bluebird5100
      @bluebird5100 4 ปีที่แล้ว
