This video and a previous video I saw about Mintzberg types of coordinating are very helpful, and is a part of the executive secretary course I am following and I am about to complete.
Helpful video, however it feels like read out from a textbook. I would much rather know the reasoning behind for instance the advantages of a centralised structure: why can Economies of Scale be applied here and not e.g. for the Divisional Structure?
Because in a centralized structure the head offices are producing and manufacturing for the whole organisation, so they can mass produce and achieve increasing returns to scale. That is something which can't easily be done in a decentralized organisation.
