    It’s insane how awfully artists are treated in the vtuber community despite the vtuber community quite literally needing artists. Not to mention it’s not just vtubers treating artists like shit it’s literally other artists treating each other like shit as well like what is happening. 😭

    Tracing is a very normalized and helpful thing, SO LONG AS you DONT POST that work publicly. Even some things that are too heavily referenced, are requested to be credited.
    Whatever you do in your personal development time is on you. Studies, references, and studying/looking for classes from the artist you like.
    If you suck at anatomy, use 3D models, designdoll, there's so much out there. o7

      Tracing is only good for poses. and body types but not on actual art pieces from artists. even tracing someone's art in private and not posting it is wrong. So, modeling pictures are perfect for tracing and learning.

    • @CatNaps
      @CatNaps 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      @@BobaTEA-o7r not here to argue with you, but no. In private tracing others works is inherently useful as a learning tool to understanding line weights and other such things.
      Again, it is in private for no profit and to learn only. Otherwise, tracing is bad.
      EDIT: I've been doing digital art, off and on for 15 years. There was a time when people were saying digital art was "cheating".
      You can also learn more than line weight and understand the flow and shape of lines, even color picking is useful for study/recreation. I cannot stress this enough, if you love art, DO WHATVER YOU CAN PRIVATELY TO TEACH YOURSELF AND LEARN. You are your own curator and driving force. Be honest, be humble and keep trying no matter where you're at skill-wise.

      @@CatNapsagreed, recently I have picked up art after 12 years of not doing it, tracing in my private time is helping me learn a lot. I have no one to teach me and videos don’t really help me. A kid couldn’t find his style so he copied off another student. Everyone noticed it and everyone called him a copied cat. But the teacher went by him and told him that why you do it. I couldn’t remember what it was, but the teacher told him they he need to come up with his own style and that’s what he did. Tracing is COMPLETELY cool if you are learning to draw. It is an amazing way to work on your lines and get comfortable making certain movements. However, tracing something and trying to present it as your OWN. Is NOT COOL. People may offer tons of tips out there, and it's ok to listen to them, but ultimately. The best way to get good is to put in the work. So if you are at home and never plan on showing it. If it is completely just practicing to learn style and technique, trace away. Trace multiples and color them all differently and work on different techniques and then leave them right there in your notebook. Once you have gotten your skill to a sufficient level, and you have built the confidence in your strokes and steadiness. Start to build upon your skill by doing your own art. Try to recreate what you see without tracing. As you progress and get to the level you want to, start to share it with the world, make sure it is original art that you have created yourself. Listen to as many tips and tricks as you want, but don't let anyone tell you what you Can and Can Not do to learn to draw. We are all different, and we learn in different ways. -a professional tattoo artist.

So by making government for artist you just ban everyone in that way. Becouse its all about what you think is best / beautifull. Which change in each time skips for as. One day you may like more realiatic thing other some Kind of 90s. So to be fair everything was already. If you check old anime/cartoons you will see Lots of this thing which they say its their idea. I've always been okay with people using my style, it's not all that unique and I'm always changing. The only stipulation I have is no tracing. Although, I always say to use my style to draw something original, not just redraw all my designs and be a copy of me. When you have people that "reference" off you all the time, for a long period of time, that's when it becomes obsessive and kind of stalker-ish. Like this case. If you were to look at one picture, it's not such a big deal (except for the blatant tracing), but when you look at all of the little things that are happening again, and again, and again, over a long period of time......yeah that's when it's not being a fan and becomes being a fanatic.

    👉 Listen to me. There are softwares out there that allows you to change the opacity of windows that are open. MEANING they could literally be having the reference image in a opacity/transparent state over the window and tracing it while the stream or timelapse can't capture that other window isn't set to capture it. One is named "Ghost-it".
    YEAH!!! I KNOW YOUR TRICKS! People that make livery's in games like Forza use this with the Livery editor to make things like Spongebob, anime characters, or logo's to be one to one copies.

    I'm not sure I understand Yukii's reply to the whole thing; "it is just my art style at this point". Are they implying that the design choices they've made which are similar to/the same as Rikku's have integrated into their style?

    There are many characters in anime similar to Kirito that do not infringe copyright laws. If Nintendo couldn't sue Palworld, it's for a reason, so in this case, there is no copying in the avatars. As for traced drawings, yes, there's nothing to say about that. But what an annoying way to always be looking for something.

    in my own personal opinion i dont see yuki as tracing that persons artwork , dy doesnt own the pose nor the colors and as u said urself "yae miko" ears, does that imply that dy copied hoyoverse? if so shouldnt hoyoverse take legal action? pls lets use our brains , she showed proof everything was made by her and lets be fr every artist has REFRENCED off a pose wether it be pinterest or somewhere else.

    LOL I CLICKED ON THIS BC IT LOOKED LIKE RIKKU AND FIRST 5 SECONDS 'DYARIKKU' HOW DO THESE PEOPLE KEEP THINKING THEY'RE GONNA GET AWAY WITH STEALING THE BIGGEST PEOPLE'S STUFF? like they're well known FOR A REASON
    also, rikku has amazing art and also i think they're.. italian? i followed them away before they blew up and got big cos i never got much chance to be present in their streams due to time zone differences where they'd just be starting their streams as i had to go to bed. glad to see them succeed but would've loved to have been a part of that community in growing
    the ears are what tipped me off to it being rikku cos i've not seen anyone else with those EXACT ears like that. idk what rikku looks now cos they keep changing themes like every few months but their original like 'glitch' theme, it's very on par with how rikku design their double sets of ears, being the lower set of them.
    okay so they admit to studying and drawing in rikku's style so you would think you would be hyper aware to make it look DISTINCTLY different to not be accused of stealing rikku's work? and they can't claim to be using pinterest for poses if they're posting wips days after something rikku did on stream and it's almost the exact same thing, that's a bunch of bull.
    did rikku say they tried to contact them and then got blocked? cos if they really wanted to clear up that they weren't copying someone and were innocent, u would think u would keep that line of communication open esp since rikku said they try to resolve things in dms without airing it out in public so it's not like rikku was going to ALSO drag it out in public and end up with people going after the copier?

    "Copying is the sincerest form of flattery" im sorry but as someone who was factkinned by a psycho for 9 years and STILL ongoing from time to time, that couldn't be less true. Copying everything you do, including outfits and such, is not flattering but in fact very weird. Theres a fine line between admiring, and straight up not having a personality and stealing from them

    I have a question? I am in love with ai art but I take different types of ai art to make my own art style, does that mean that I still have to look at irl references too and not just anime ai art.
    The main reason why I love anime ai art is because some of ai art have some styles that I like and I want to draw just like that

    • @crossanddream2
      @crossanddream2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say no, you just keep what you're doing. As you commented, you just want your art to look like anime, using irl references won't really help unless you want your art to look realistic

    • @LongDeadArtist
      @LongDeadArtist 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      You CAN be inspired from AI for abstract pieces, from reality, or actual pieces the AI might've taken the ideas from, BUT DON'T TRACE OR UPLOAD THE AI ART. AI should NOT be supported in the art community, it is usually detrimental as a tool and can only be used for references at best.
      If you are aiming to a similar style that the "classic AI style" captures that's fine, but you'll get accused of AI a lot and it isn't a true way to learn, so I definitely would NOT recommend.
      I'd go on pinterest, make mood boards, look outside and touch some grass (I have been DEPRIVED of the outside :'3). Search for AI styles and professional art and speedpaints and learn some tricks, but AT LEAST have a basic grasp of the fundamentals. It's better to learn from ACTUAL ARTISTS you like and try to copy or incorporate their methods into your own art, add yourself into your style.
      TL;DR: AI should not be supported although some parts of AI including the style it takes can be inspired from. I would learn the basic fundamentals and take from IRL, anime artists and make mood boards, building an art style takes time though. At the end of the day, find your own by looking at artists you like and adding it to your style, no need to copy anything. Trust the journey, it never ends!
      Good luck ❤

      you should learn to draw real people even if you copy ai gen, your art will stagnate and you'll use ai as a crutch forever, you need to learn actual anatomy and composition to grow as an artist
