I watch a lot of great watercolor artists here on TH-cam! But what I like about you is that you take so much time and care showing the process! Thank you. I'm a professional Acrylic Artist, but watercolor is excitingly new.
Dear Shelley, Recovering now from a bedridden year, I want you to know that your channel has been a gift to me. I had never thought I’d ever be able to paint anything yet here I am loving to learn watercolor painting no matter how long it takes. I’m sure there are many more of us from all walks of life whom your teaching has touched. Many thanks from cold, southern Brazil!
This was such a great learning experience. I love how detailed you are in explaining these processes and that you take the time to share this with all of us. Thank you Shelly!
love this technique and all the little tidbits of invaluable info I pick up thru out your commentary so appreciate your time and generosity in teaching thank you
I really enjoyed seeing how you approached this one Shelley. I haven’t tried a dip pen yet for this type of grassy meadow and I’ve been wanting to try it out. I may have to get myself a dip pen 😁 I really like those fine lines. Thank you as always 🙏
I am very new to water color, Just wondering with your palate that you have How do you keep your paints from drying out once your finished painting ? Thanks
@@wesmcclaskie3442 I let my paints dry out between painting sessions. I simply add a generous amount of water to my colours about 10 minutes before I start again. This softens them up considerably. Don’t leave the lid on your moist paint. Mold can form.
I came back into the comments section because I wanted to add that there are more than enough edited videos out there... (not to mention that just by tapping you can easily fast forward.) I love that your channel allows for the experience of watching exactly how everything is done in real time instead, and hearing your helpful commentary throughout. I hope that won’t change!

Lovely
So there's still use for masking fluid. Excellent demo. I'll post results.
Fantastic 👏🏻
Have you tried the Japanese brass nib for masking? Really enjoying your video. Have subscribed.
@@arlenemurphy804 thanks very much. No I haven’t tried that brass nib. The inexpensive one I’m using was given to me.
@@shelleypriorfineart I might have to try the glass nibs😁

The masking part is great but too much time spent doing so the painting is what I want to see
Michael, this is all about the technique and not a complete painting.
@@Michael-lq5di I have several other videos that show completed paintings if you’d like to check them out. Today was just a new technique to try.

Totally agree. Watching a painting done in real time is great.
