I like these older documentaries. They are more down to earth and slow. Not so fast or in your face. Something about the early 2000s and late 90s camera quality also gives them a charm that is all their own.
I've been living in Nevada for 15 years, and I never once felt at home. I never even realized how much Louisiana (Baton Rouge) was home until I moved away. Missing home a lot today.
Same here, never appreciated it while I was there, but after 10 years in Europe I only feel at home when I get back to the Boot. I'm From Addis, which is just a few miles south of B.R.. it's a love hate relationship with the the home i love..
2021 Update on the places I know. The old building in Marksville shown had it's front rebuilt and has a new roof, the old bank building in Mansura has been restored and is now a Senior Citizen Center, the old Iron Bridge and Ponthier Store in Big Bend have both been restored and now are museums, The old church shown after in the clip is St.Catherine's Catholic Church nearby and has since been restored. It is still used occasionally. The old Landry store in Lettsworth has unfortunately been closed. When Mr. Landry passed away the deer and cages were removed, the building remained for a short time then was demolished.

I know many of those towns. My parents were raised in Bordelonville.
