4090 with a 13700k and this game finally ran good in VR until I used your settings.. I cant believe it, Ive been trying on and off for almost 5 years now. Never had much luck with the G2 but the Quest 3 works a treat in ATS with this rig. Asymmetric Space Warp was the key. Can now run almost full graphics super smooth. I didnt think you could get this smooth at 45fps. For the difference between 100% scaling and 400% was so small I couldn't even tell. FOV and Vehicle Lights off were the big ones for me.

@@Despiser25 Thanks for the comments, have just re-read them, I also run a 4090 but with an i9 14900k. If you were experiencing issues with the guide, you could actually run the settings higher with the spec of your PC, I have as applied on my guide but with FPS locked at 80, Quest Pro at 80hz, and Render Resolution at 120%.
I will be doing a follow up guide, if you’ve made modifications using the Oculus Debug tool, then it is likely there is a conflict between the Oculus software and OpenVR which is the native version Steam VR uses. If you look further through the comments below you will see advice offered to others that has resolved their similar issues. I will do a further video on SteamVR settings, hope this helped clarify 😊

@@nextlevelsimgaming I use the Q3 and use Virtual Desktop so dont use the debug tool. It is amazing magic using the VDXR wirelessly. Compared to the Link it is so much better. I could never get Link to run very good and not be blurry. VDXR makes it run like its on my desktop, lol. The single biggest setting for me was the config file stereo_buffer_scale. When I set that to 1.7 everything changed for the better. 1.8 caused a minor stutter but the quality wasn't that different anyway. I also use God mode in Virtual Desktop and do use Spacewarp always. I had to buy a really good router to make this happen though. I didnt think getting ATS in VR could be this good. Very pleasantly surprised after almost a decade of the worst jaggies of any game..

How come when I follow this step by step, it doesn't say "selected beta:oculus" next to the Green Play button? It says "oculus" next to the ATS on the list of games on the left, like yours does too.

    • @nextlevelsimgaming
      @nextlevelsimgaming  หลายเดือนก่อน

That is correct, it will display oculus to indicate the appropriate VR download has been selected, regardless of which Beta you download. The variation you choose, i.e -oculus
      -openvr
      -openxr
Will determine which plugins are used for the service, this is the part you type in.

@@923cookcameron Have you selected the Oculus/OpenVR/Open XR 1.50 from the Beta screen as shown?, dont worry too much about it not showing the same, SCS do change it frequently, is the game running in VR?, if so then you know the correct download has applied

@@nextlevelsimgaming yes, everything was same as yours. When I load it up, it’s just on a giant screen in a VR space. But, I’m not sitting in the truck or anything when I start my Job.

@@923cookcameron The setup is done on the classic Steam website, not in Big Picture mode, you do not have to have Steam VR running to make the initial configuration changes.
When in the Steam environment, i.e Website, go to your library, select American Truck Simulator and then Manage/Properties/Beta/ and then select from the pull down tab ‘oculus - Oculus+openvr+openxr - 1.50’ it wiil be set to None when you first select the pull down tab.
You then need to select a launch option in General/Selected Launch Option, type either
      -oculus
      -openxr
      For Quest devices.
Once you have carried out these steps, the software will then download and once updated it will show in the Selectred Beta (next to the green play button) oculus
If using an older Beta such as 1.49 it would show [oculus]
Hope this helps, if it still does not display you or launch VR you would need to open a question on the SCS Community Hub, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the game again

What VR headset are you using?
I will be doing a follow up video on this, but if you are using a Meta Quest Headset then you can try uninstalling the Oculus Software (not required for SteamVR) see if that improves it (as it can and does conflict)

Also look up @DayDreamerVR on TH-cam and look at his Steam Link & Steam VR Settings - Latency vs Image Quality video, it may be more likely your Steam VR application as opposed to game settings 😊

@@nextlevelsimgaming I have the proper beta setup and I have tried both -oculus and -openvr and all I ever get is a black screen in my oculus 3. I tried uninstalling the oculus software and it won't connect to my pc without it. Not with link cable nor airlink. I bought the oculus 3 for the sole purpose of playing ATS and ETS2 and I am on the verge of returning it to the store. I don't have a massively powerful computer, but it should be enough to at least get me in the game. I5 9600 and RTX 2060. Any thoughts?

@@ManOfNantucket Have you run the game through Steam VR?, download the Steam VR app through the Oculus Store (its free) and ensure Steam VR is installed on Steam
      store.steampowered.com/app/250820/SteamVR/
Then launch Steam VR in the Quest Headset, pair it by following the in headset instructions, it will run the game in Open VR (follow my guide using -openvr Beta instructions.
You should be able to run it as per the guide as per the instructions, let me know how you get on 🙂

@@nextlevelsimgaming Well I got it to run without the Oculus software, but the results were the same.
