With the first stop being Lake St. Clair, in smallmouth bass territory, a place I've had mixed results but excited to test out the forward facing sonar in one of the best fisheries in the country for using electronics. Big fan Brandon.. I was just curious, you seem to land the fish from under the boat and belly scoop them. Is there a reason for that over grabbing them by the lip ? Personal preference ? Fish handling etiquette ?

It's mostly a smallmouth thing. If they are under the boat they can't jump and they often keep there mouth closed so its quicker to belly grab em.
