Some dp's, Sol's for example, either take 7 frames or are more then 7 frames of startup before the actual hit comes out. So if you do it too early, you won't parry anything because the actual hit part of the dp hasn't came out yet.

Baiken vs Goldlewis is perfectly even imo. Just week 1 impressions but while Baikens counter is scary at first so are all of Goldlewis' different versions of offense. Especially when he catches a counter on whiff it can lead to some pretty juicy stuff, and obviously the heavies generally have some funny meme combos with kabari.
It also seems like that Goldlewis was missing a lot of confirms/combos that would of totally led to way more damage. Cause a few of those hits could has easily meant death, lol.
I swear if I had Guilty Gear Strive on my Switch, you bet your bottom dollar I would absolutely love to play as Baiken from her gameplay, character design, and fun factor. I would definitely dump some time into that
Bro I've been wanting to get into guilty gear for years, I just got the series on steam and I have an arcade stick (mayflash f300) but for some reason no matter what I do I can't get the controls to work on it. It doesn't have this problem with Street Fighter, Blazblue, and fighterz it just happens on the guilty gear titles. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Far as I can tell, buffering is mashing just the direction inputs and waiting to do the actual attack one when ready to unleash it, while mashing it is just everything mashed and comes out as soon as it does.
that depends on the context. for most things it's called mashing because you're trying to get the input in the moment it is available. but when the enemy is in their super start up animation you're still allowed to enter inputs that will then fire once the enemies start up ends. So it's called buffering in this case because here the inputs are being registered and will fire when ready unlike mashing. so in Baiken's case if they launch a super she is in parry range for she can throw the inputs in and she parries on the first frame.
The half circle motion is a bitch sometimes, I used to main sol and using the occasional fafnir was decently easy but here kabari is a decent chunk of Baiken's gameplay and now it's significantly more of a bitch to do them more.
Goldlewis has an easier time overall than that player made it look. He just needs to use his whole controller and make better decisions. There wasn’t one P or overhead BT in those games. I’d recommend Baccpack for some top tier Goldlewis play, not to mention how he commentated his decision making process on top of that.

Iv'e been playing this for a while and sol has alway's been my favorite once in a while I play as Chip but got to admit that Baiken has become my favorite I'm still rusty playing with her but I'll get to that point
@@samy29987 I dunno about that, if they can bait a parry and land a counterhit heavy slash you might be losing half your life for one parry attempt. Rather specific, but especially those wakeup parries like Max was doing in this video can easily be baited out by just throwing a slower button instead.

Can't you people just let good moves be good without trying to get them nerfed. Baiken gets absolutely nothing off the parry other then damage. She doesn't get tatami mix or a safejump, she gets nothing. Not to mention you can't just mash it brainlessly because the parry can be too fast and you get clipped for trying to use a parry thst lasts for 6 frames against a 7 or 10 frame move. It's like any other meterless reversal like Sol's or Leo's dp. There's a risk and reward. Just get better plssssss

Ordered my first arcade stick cause I broke my ps5 dpad doing half circles with baiken.
I remember never being able to do any of the stick movement + button press combos at all. Not even in SF5 or Ultimate Marvel.

Baiken's counter needs a nerf. That shit is way too strong. Frame 1 invul? Make it have like 40 frames of recovery on whiff then or something
It's only active for like 1/10th of a second, man. Recovery is already pretty fierce for that. Damage definitely a bit high for how good it is though.
