Been loving her "Your Best American Girl" couldn't help but smile when she mentioned in an interview how she used tropes in "White Indie Rock" from her adolescence. Clever & Funny!:)
:0 what an unexpected gift this video is! such a beautiful setting, beautiful artist and beautiful lyrics. I'm completely overwhelmed and loving every second of it!
idk what you mean, the guitarist is playing the songs and adding only things that benefit them, and it seems like mitski encourages her band to be creative with their playing as long as they still get to the song at the end of the day
shes great. if you like her sound you should really check out the soundtrack to the movie All About Lily Chou Chou, many a Mitski song has my mind going to that subtle psych sound
Wow it's great to see someone mention AALCC, it's my absolute favorite Japanese film and the soundtrack plays a huge part on why that is. In fact her Geyser music video reminds me of a lot of the director Shunji Iwai's films...
darn where was I 2017? i just discover Japanese Breakfast, Jay som and her,,yay!! KEXP is sounds were always flawless but I agree that the guitar is not only overplaying but his volume is a bit high drowning the v0cals. -_-
Sweet...nice Bass and Vocal connection!, but her voice gets lost in the guitar a bit! little dragging and somewhat off in a cool way!! I dig this!! Keep it up Mitski!!!.... Sadie💕
When i was a kid, i always adore guitar and violin too. Then i grew up and high tone instruments just annoy my ears now, its still a beautiful instrument, but i love the bass sound more.
It sounds a lot like Stina Nordenstam, PJ Harvey, Pixies (Bass line). Mitski is fine, but she/you should listen to Stina's songs: "This time John", "Things about fire", "Purple rain - Cover", "People are strange - Cover".
queen of making me sad
I don't know, man. It's either her or Julien Baker. I guess it depends on what style of sad is making me sadder on any particular day.

Mitski is right, she's not the moon and she's not a star cuz she's the fucking entire nighttime sky. Like an ocean.
She’s god
I know I'm late to the Mitski hype train, but as an almost 40 year old this is the type of rock music I miss.
The Cappy never too late !! mitski is a timeless god of music
Tony Trimm of the Handsome Rambler podcast mentioned when Mitski was on the show that her sound really reminds him of 90s Subpop Records artists.
have any recommendations? I'm always looking for music that feels like hers.
Same! The world is awash with so much music that gems like her can sometimes get overlooked. But when you find her.....wow.
@@mitskiluvr420 What about St. Vincent? Not only do they remind me of each other, but they practically have the same birthday (Annie Clark, that is).
if you didn't cry at her concert, did you really go?
That bass sounds amazing
I like it too. It's got a lot of punch.
Seriously, I hope Reverend is hooking her up because she's making their bass sound great.
Reverend justice in gold - My dream bass. Also because she plays it
@@aidanbh bless you i've been looking everywhere to find out what type of bass she's playing it sounds soo good

“my baby, my baby, you’re my baby, say it to me”
This is the closest you can get to a shoulder you can cry on as a sound
Got to see her in Santa Cruz, I love the contrast between her singing voice and the way she speaks and carries herself--seems like a classy lady
u ever just cry
Literally everything mitski does is 10/10 A+ work. I'm going to die

the new lighting design is beautiful, love it!
I think this is my favorite version of Francis Forever.
The adventure time cover goes hard
Mitski is the one of the best musicians I ever heard. Actually I can tell than she is my fav musician EVER
huge fan of hers but the treble effect / flangulator on the guitar is killlllling me
i love mitski. she is so personable and her presence is so strong. i am inspired by her.
This is the first time I see a Mitski full band gig with good audio work. Kevin Suggs is an awesome audio engineer.
:0 what an unexpected gift this video is!
such a beautiful setting, beautiful artist and beautiful lyrics. I'm completely overwhelmed and loving every second of it!
Going to see her in a month, so excited!!!!
she fucking killed it, guitar needs to chill
vocals arent the only part of a song
Agree with the first part of your assessment, disagree with second part.
idk what you mean, the guitarist is playing the songs and adding only things that benefit them, and it seems like mitski encourages her band to be creative with their playing as long as they still get to the song at the end of the day
Mitski should release these versions, specially this version of Happy, i think it sound very amazing!!!!
Thanks for playing this on KEXP! I’m glad some of the stuff that I helped write has been played!
KEXP delivers again!! Wow, I needed this
