You’re foolish if you think Chelsea are signing this guy for footballing reasons. They’ll sign this guy for an inflated fee and Villa will do the same with one of Chelsea’s youngsters so they can both put it down as pure profit on this years books and avoid PSR sanctions. They are both effectively borrowing money from future years by doing this but they don’t care, they want to spend now.

I’ve been in support of a lot of the young signings. I’ve seen the talent in the young paez, estiveao, Santos and why we are making those type of purchases but I can’t see it here.
