Saw one of these coming in to land at King’s College Hospital in South London the other day, haven’t noticed one before but they look and sound beautiful and quite distinct! It then jetted off back towards Brighton, landing about an hour after I spotted it. Very cool how much distance they cover in their day to day missions.
That is such an impressive helicopter. Very state of the art and they sound incredible as well as coming across as very slick and smooth in flight. The rotor action looks mindblowing as well. I hope I get to see one of these flying in real life.
The A189 really is a truly impressive helicopter and one which is proving its reliable and rugged design aloows it to fill in for othe generation of Search and Rescue helicopters. Thanks so much for watching.
@@JonathanWinton123 I mean, dont get me wrong I love the As332 and it also has quite a lot of power (tested it in winter, -10 degrees, 9 personell in the back, fuel for 150 minutes, hover with one engine was still possible.) But seeing the new aw189...same weight as the as 332 but 300kw more per engine. Crossing my fingers that we´ll get the K version of the AW189
I worked on the final upgrades for the Seakings. They were over 40 years old but the airframes needed new certificates every 5 years. Better than being scrapped they were all sold off for further use as they were built like brick toilets.
+Jonathan Winton There has been one of them going to Northumberland again three weeks ago I was told it was searching in the North Sea then it landed at Cramlington Hospital in Newcastle

Absolutely awesome heli footage Jonathan. This must have been amazing to experience live, that bird is a beauty! Nice work!
Many many thanks mate. It certainly was. Gives you a great insight into their ops.
Awesome sound! Really nice catch, it's a nice change to see some heli action! Liked for sure
Cheers Hugo. I do love it when we get the chance to see them up-close.
Beautiful helicopter.. Love it.. Great captured..
Thanks very much, it was a great one to catch.
This video is mesmerizing.
Thankyou.
Always flys low over my house nearly every day!
Nice. You're lucky to see it so often.
Great video and footage!
Many thanks
What a pretty bird. I really hope we´ll get those as a replacement for our as332´s.
Hopefully they will replace them in the end.

Nice video Jon, nice looking helicopter!
Cheers Will it is indeed.
Why does that belly look a bit low? The sound of a 189 engine start is haunting yet awesome.
It is just because it has fairly low ground clearance. I love the sound of it too.
Great Video Jonathan. I will miss the S92s, but I like these too. Sadly they are nothing compared to the Seakings, they are sorely missed.
Cheers Dan. Same here, the Aw189s are good tho. Agreed.
