    I really wanted Jason Alexander to say "These pretzels are making me thirsty!"

    I really like the tv edited versions of movies like that! "Joke" and "You!" I love it when McClane said "Joke Off!"

    Back when commercials felt like mini-movies.

    I wouldn't blame you if you haven't seen "Robocop 3", it was one of the worst sequels ever and I even saw it theatres mostly because I love "Robocop" and so was my family. And yes, the infamous TV dubbed and edited version of "Die Hard 2", "Yippie-ka-yay, Mr. Falcon!" LOL!

    Awesome, as usual! Everyone's covered the others, so for them that care, Jean-Luc Brassard won the gold medal at the Olympics that year. He is apparently the guy credited with wearing those brightly coloured knee-pads to draw the judge's attention to the smoothness of the knee placement during his run. Jonny Moseley, an American, won it the next year (1998), but Canada's been the one to beat since 2010 (Alexandre Bilodeau twice and Mikaël Kingsbury this year).

    8:40 - Wow, this has to be one of the worst dubs I've ever heard. Were they even trying? Why didn't they just get Pee-Wee Herman to dub over Bruce Willis? It would sound more authentic!

  • @vicious-pi3rd
    @vicious-pi3rd 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    28. That was the most worst voice over dubbing I ever witnessed!

    That was the worst voice they used to dub out the cuss words in the movie.

  • @darktetsuya
    @darktetsuya 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I do wonder when they started to record the alternate 'edited for tv' lines like you'd see in snakes on a plane, cus those Die Hard edits don't even sound like bruce wiillis!

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They've been doing that for a long time. The Ghostbusters TV edit that I posted clips from in Vols. 511 and 512 were alternate takes filmed specifically for TV: th-cam.com/video/uZQMpDz1naY/w-d-xo.htmlm41s

    • @darktetsuya
      @darktetsuya 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@80sCommercialVault oooh ok. Just some of the ones I heard here didn't even really sound like him! (especially 'hip deep in snow', LOL)

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The TV edit here *is* an example of someone badly dubbing over the movie that isn't Bruce Willis. I was just pointing out that alternate takes for TV have been a thing for a long time. Every movie is different.

    "Joke and you"? I understand CBS having to use euphemisms for some of the harsher profanity, but surely there could have been a substitute that made a little more sense

      A better idea would be to just mute the curse words imo.

    Bad TV edit indeed, but the worst ever was the TV edit of The Breakfast Club (Fang You!)

    Oh, I would've KILLED to get those Nightmare Before Christmas watches from Burger King!! Oh, man...(I actually have a Jack Skellington watch, but it's different.) ...But this was a year before I was even born, so...
    "What sets off the metal detector first, the lead in your hat or the junk in your brains?" is my new favorite line. Ever.
    Additionally, there's a lot of really great ones today, like, dialogue-wise, how can you dispute with slogans like "breakfast for your head" or "just wait till we get our Hanes on you"? It's all just awesome.
