In 1990 my beautiful newborn daughter passed away the day after she was born. In 2002 I started and ran a support group for 15 years for other parents who had lost a baby. One day a newly bereaved mother asked me how on earth could I ever enjoy a holiday or be happy again. I said to her "I would never want Melissa to look down from Heaven and think she had ruined my life. I would never want her to think that her brother and sisters and I would never be happy, enjoy holidays or have fun because of her. I would want her to see us living life to the fullest and being happy because of her. Even years later that mother says that comment changed everything for her. I repeated it many times over the years to other parents. It is hard. I felt guilt for a long time. I still have days that hurt really bad. I miss everything that could have been. But I choose to live my life in a way that honors Melissa's life rather than a life that is full of pain because she died. Despite how short her life was, it is her life I choose to focus on more than her death. I am so deeply sorry about River. It hurt me terribly for you because I know the heartache of burying a child. But I am very proud of how the two of you are seeking help and holding on to each other. I am proud to see you are letting the kids talk about River and include him in your lives. My children have said many times that the greatest gift I gave them was never letting them forget about their baby sister.

I 100% agree with the missing each other! 22 years old and my better half is 21 and we are expecting our first child, i’m an over the road trucker for my family business. I’m constantly gone week in and week out and being gone makes our relationship stronger I believe. My friend died from pneumonia and complications from asthma. That was in 2018. She was about to turn 17 on April 24th. That’s also the day of my sisters birthday. There’s only been two birthday’s since she died and I don’t know whether to be sad because of my friend or to be happy for my sister. I had a concert less than a month after she died and I felt guilty because I was having fun and she just died. I still remember the day I found out, I remember what I was wearing and where I was, and our last conversation.
I could listen to the two of you talk all day! :) And watch you and your family all day too! So, not sure if you know, but I'll bet you must, what an amazing mission you have taken on that God has sent your way. You must be extra special in His eyes that he was able to entrust you to speaking and living HIS word to the world. You may have come upon some of that in ways you would never have chosen, but the gift you and God have given all the rest of us to teach and live in his word is an amazing and awesome gift to the world. Agreed. I used to waitress and now when I go out, I always pair the silverware, throwaway items, combine drinks. I also make sure if we have plates with condiments on them I have it where they won’t stick their hands in it.

Everytime I watch your videos I am amazed at how humble you guys are with the success and popularity you have. That crack about Luke Bryan made me 😂 Seeing your house tour would be interesting, but your home is kinda your personal sanctuary and some people might have bad intentions like seeing what's in there to rob while you're away. Here's an idea.....if Matt Carriker doesn't move into the abandoned mansion that he's renovating, maybe your family could move in and give input on the plans? It really looks remote on the top of a hill. Maybe get a helipad and a yee yee helicopter to fly back and forth to the airport. 🚁
In 2020 you guys should get together with demo and the googans for a meet and greet at the bunker 2.0 or at the googan warehouse, all proceeds to river Kelly fund, I'm sure the guys would do it! I would drive from Kansas for it!

I’m 23 and have 2 kids. My daughter, Mallory, pops over from time to time to watch, she’s 2 & in gymnastics and loved watching your daughter do her gymnastics a few videos back, it was a short clip so nothing long but she enjoyed it. She also enjoys the chickens and stuff! Amber please do a channel of your own, talking about motherhood, god, marriage, or even a private Facebook group so we can all interact and be together! Motherhood at times is so isolating especially staying home with the kids! It’s a blessing but it’s also lonely sometimes too! Merry Christmas!
Our daughter died from cancer at 16 7 years ago. I have been a Christian pretty much my whole life, but constantly doubt the Lord for why my daughter wasn’t healed on earth. I do think of the milestones she missed until I watched your video after River passed and you said he was placed on earth for 3 years. You weren’t going to question the Lord and think of the what if’s. Gods timing is perfect and you don’t doubt. I am inspired by your faith and it has helped me doubt less. I miss our daughter so much and hate she suffered greatly. I appreciate your openness and wanted you to know it helps others!

Three of my all-time favourite videos/parts of videos are: 1) River owning that go cart and taking the jumps, etc. 2) Granger and London doing gymnastics together and lying on the trampoline; 3) The walk that Granger and the boys took walking thru the land at their old home looking for flowers for mama. It’s hard not to feel guilty even when you’ve been told and know you’re not guilty. Weather it’s feeling guilty of having fun and being happy or guilty of not doing something differently. After I had a miscarriage I blamed myself for doing something wrong though I was told from my doctor that it’s nothing I did and nothing I had control of. I went through a while of “what if...” before I came to terms with it , it was in gods plan and wasn’t the time for us.
You both are doing everything right, With God, therapy and family and friends. and the crib at your friends home. You both look great. Sadly, I can see the pain etched on your faces. I am so sorry for your loss of your son.

A dear friend of mine passed away in September of 2017. She was only 17. She passed 5 days after finding out she had leukemia. It was a horrible tragedy and something that completely changed my life. When she told the news of finding out about the cancer I immediately wanted to go visit her but that weekend I had already planned to make a small road trip with my boyfriend. Instead of pushing off the road trip, I decided Monday I would go see her. She died Sunday night. I will always regret that choice. But I learned the most important lesson of my life which is tomorrow is never promised. Don’t wait. Do it now. My heart breaks for anyone else who has to learn it the hard way like I did. So live in the moment and hug your loved ones tight. ❤️ Ps. I love the Smiths and YEEYEE and absolutely love your Q and As. You inspire me everyday! Xoxo

I can relate to your house being a safe place for now. 8 years ago we went through a traumatic trial in our lives and our home (which had been a house we had built and put so much into) became too hard for me to live in. Even the community was too hard for me to live in anymore. We ended up selling that house quickly (which was a huge blessing) and buying a house 70 miles away without even seeing it in person. The new house was definitely not my dream house but it felt safe and helped our family start to recover from the trauma we had been through. 4 years later-out of the blue-we found a house that was perfect for our family just a few miles down the street and were able to sell our “safe place” house and buy the other one quickly as well. I think that it’s ok to have that safe place to land for awhile until life leads you to a new place. Many prayers to your sweet family❤️
I will be glad to move past 2019, it has been the worst year for our family too. Besides losing both of our mothers, there were so many other things that keep knocking us down. May your new year hold easier days ahead. Stay strong.

My friend died from pneumonia and complications from asthma. That was in 2018. She was about to turn 17 on April 24th. That’s also the day of my sisters birthday. There’s only been two birthday’s since she died and I don’t know whether to be sad because of my friend or to be happy for my sister. I had a concert less than a month after she died and I felt guilty because I was having fun and she just died. I still remember the day I found out, I remember what I was wearing and where I was, and our last conversation.
I could listen to the two of you talk all day! :) And watch you and your family all day too! So, not sure if you know, but I'll bet you must, what an amazing mission you have taken on that God has sent your way. You must be extra special in His eyes that he was able to entrust you to speaking and living HIS word to the world. You may have come upon some of that in ways you would never have chosen, but the gift you and God have given all the rest of us to teach and live in his word is an amazing and awesome gift to the world. I hope you know how incredible you are! So a sincere and heartfelt thank you! All the very best to you and your family!

Here's an idea.....if Matt Carriker doesn't move into the abandoned mansion that he's renovating, maybe your family could move in and give input on the plans? It really looks remote on the top of a hill. Maybe get a helipad and a yee yee helicopter to fly back and forth to the airport. 🚁

I’m 23 and have 2 kids. My daughter, Mallory, pops over from time to time to watch, she’s 2 & in gymnastics and loved watching your daughter do her gymnastics a few videos back, it was a short clip so nothing long but she enjoyed it. She also enjoys the chickens and stuff! Amber please do a channel of your own, talking about motherhood, god, marriage, or even a private Facebook group so we can all interact and be together! Motherhood at times is so isolating especially staying home with the kids! It’s a blessing but it’s also lonely sometimes too! Merry Christmas!
Our daughter died from cancer at 16 7 years ago. I have been a Christian pretty much my whole life, but constantly doubt the Lord for why my daughter wasn’t healed on earth. I do think of the milestones she missed until I watched your video after River passed and you said he was placed on earth for 3 years. You weren’t going to question the Lord and think of the what if’s. Gods timing is perfect and you don’t doubt. I am inspired by your faith and it has helped me doubt less. I miss our daughter so much and hate she suffered greatly. I appreciate your openness and wanted you to know it helps others!

Was driving on the highway here about an hour south of Seattle earlier this week, and a pickup passed with the rear window covered in a Yee Yee decal. It made me smile. You all are amazing! Blessings in 2020!
Three of my all-time favourite videos/parts of videos are: 1) River owning that go cart and taking the jumps, etc. 2) Granger and London doing gymnastics together and lying on the trampoline; 3) The walk that Granger and the boys took walking thru the land at their old home looking for flowers for mama.
As for you doing a house tour, you don't have to feel the need to. We see bits and pieces of it in the videos and that's enough. Your home should be your haven, your safe place, where you go to be together as a family. We're grateful for what we get to share with you and that's all we need.

31 year old female here 🙌🏻🤘🏻 I love watching both of you! And love y’all openness of everything. And grief and guilt are hard things. It’s hard not to feel guilty even when you’ve been told and know you’re not guilty. Weather it’s feeling guilty of having fun and being happy or guilty of not doing something differently. After I had a miscarriage I blamed myself for doing something wrong though I was told from my doctor that it’s nothing I did and nothing I had control of. I went through a while of “what if...” before I came to terms with it , it was in gods plan and wasn’t the time for us.

A dear friend of mine passed away in September of 2017. She was only 17. She passed 5 days after finding out she had leukemia. It was a horrible tragedy and something that completely changed my life.
When she told the news of finding out about the cancer I immediately wanted to go visit her but that weekend I had already planned to make a small road trip with my boyfriend. Instead of pushing off the road trip, I decided Monday I would go see her. She died Sunday night. I will always regret that choice. But I learned the most important lesson of my life which is tomorrow is never promised. Don’t wait. Do it now. My heart breaks for anyone else who has to learn it the hard way like I did. So live in the moment and hug your loved ones tight. ❤️

I can relate to your house being a safe place for now. 8 years ago we went through a traumatic trial in our lives and our home (which had been a house we had built and put so much into) became too hard for me to live in. Even the community was too hard for me to live in anymore. We ended up selling that house quickly (which was a huge blessing) and buying a house 70 miles away without even seeing it in person. The new house was definitely not my dream house but it felt safe and helped our family start to recover from the trauma we had been through. 4 years later-out of the blue-we found a house that was perfect for our family just a few miles down the street and were able to sell our “safe place” house and buy the other one quickly as well. I think that it’s ok to have that safe place to land for awhile until life leads you to a new place. Many prayers to your sweet family❤️
