- There's been some good news for mortgage holders, as the Bank of England has cut interest rates to 4.5%.
But that has been tempered by a warning about the state of the economy with the Bank cutting the UK's growth forecast in half.
Sky's Economics Editor Ed Conway reports.

Gets paid £495,000 (plus £99,000 pension) a year to tell us how poor we all are
Next 20 years are going to be devastating for UK growth.
Yay...luckily I left the country two weeks ago.
Not surprising considering everyone who has gold here in uk are flying it out off the country asap
we need to cut rules and regulations for construction. it literally takes forever to build anything.
Crumbly concrete and Grenfell 2.0 here we come!
@@ANH-1977don’t be silly, no one’s saying that
we need a new leader fast.
I think that's right tbh. A direction
We just got one
Things don't improve immediately, to undo past mistakes and grow the economy takes time.

Why was the economy doing better when Rishi was PM then?
@@Flaming-wingsit’s got worse than 6 months ago!
@@Flaming-wingsThe President of Argentina turned round his country’s economy in 6 months. It’s forecast to grow by 5% this year. Our economy is hurtling towards recession & unemployment is climbing.
hand it over to the states, and everything will change
It's almost as if the economy can't grow when all the income is going on spiralling rent to landlords rather than goods and services
And the rent is spiralling because of increased taxes and regulation costs as well as generally pushing landlords out the market which has reduced the supply of homes to rent. It's all the government's fault.
"Growth blow"
Im going to ask the missus for one tonight but she's in a bad mood because im not being anywhere near honest about the state of our finances....

The issue with this is that Londoners move north , no one wants that 😜
yea,we are goosed. London will be hit hardest , banks are moving, media downsizing ( streaming and Ai )
How is lowering interest rates a growth blow? Econ 101, lower interest rates stimulates borrowing and helps growth in the economy??
I guess SkyNews has a different economic framework from the rest of the universe. Hope people get lower mortgage payments as a result.
Predictable. StasiLabour clueless and will KNOWINGLY make it worse
theres a shortage of building materials, your squeezing more tax out of people, costs raise so then wages have to raise...its getting out of control and its usually just simply greed
22 million foreign born migrants now live in the UK and millions of them have never held a job and live off benefits and many British people have had enough and emigrated including 11,000 millionaires and many have gone to New Zealand and Australia.
Many British born gone to UAE, Saudi, Australia as migrants. Many British born on benefits, as that’s majority of UK population. Let that sink in
They go east to avoid tax bruv... they don't get no benefits there, to gain any benefit people of any race should have to work for it, community work not just queue for it!

That gold bullion belongs to many other countries, not all owned by UK. UK simply acting as bank locker for other's gold. India taking out it's gold.
Stop printing money 😢
Money is all about control. It's just paper with numbers.
"the UK does seem to be worse hit than many other countries." I wonder what the reason could be. What is it that we've done differently? What could it possibly be? 🤔🤔🤔 Could it be that we imposed trade sanctions on ourselves? 🤣🤣🤣
Trust in Rachel from accounts and Rayner, they'll sort things out.
is the presenter a catholic priest or did he just forgot to pull out the shirt's collar?
Reeves is useless.
Andrew Bailey should have quit long time ago. He has mismanaged the economy for too long.
in the past 5 years, was there any good economic news?
Socialists & Economic Growth, not happy bedfellows 🤦♂️
Most construction workers are self employed so don`t complain about national insurance

The Nixon flash, UK style
Gordon Brown sold all the gold reserves, but not return
The flash was an out of the blue agreement, all federal reserves were ( I think? ) sent to Saudi, on the premise/ promise that USA would have every barrel of oil traded in US dollars. Only two counties have stood against that and traded . Iraq and Russia
Stop inequality

I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 385K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% annually in dividend returns. any good stock recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated
I managed to grow a nest egg of around 120k to over a Million. I'm especially grateful to Adviser Ruth Ann Tsakonas, for her expertise and exposure to different areas of the market.
I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
Without a doubt! Ruth Ann Tsakonas is a trader who goes above and beyond. she has an exceptional skill for analysing market movements and spotting profitable opportunities. Her strategies are meticulously crafted on thorough research and years of practical experience.
look up her name on the web for her website.
I've just looked up her full name on my browser and found her webpage without sweat, very much appreciate this...
