I've had mine for almost 10 years, bought it brand new, and have never had any serious issues with her. For the past year, she has had a built motor and is still running like a champ.
I feel you bro, it comes with the territory though dude. I have had mine since December and it has been nothing but fun....and repairs since. Gotta keep in mind your car has over 200k KM and thats a ton of wear and tear and components will have to be changed. I have almost rid mine of all its noises, should be good after rear brakes this week. Stay positive and push forward my dude!
I am in the same boat as you bro, I finally have a very good paying job but I started my financial life/ goals a little late so I'm rushing to put everything where it should have been, I'm in my mid 30s. Same time i would love to have a newer car but I don't want that payment after finally paying off ALL my debt. I bought my 2012 Speed 3 years ago saved up and paid cash I'll just stick with it for some time longer. Keep up the amazing work bro!
Hey man sounds like you are happy with your job situation rn. Keep working on moving up. As for the speed, i wouldnt worry about all the sounds it makes. As long as its not drivetrain, suspension, etc.... i dont expect after market parts to have perfect fitment. Keep uploading and ill keep watching.

I just bought my speed 3 about 2 months back got told the engine is a entire rebuild. So drive the car for 3 days. Then ibheard a bad clanking rattle at the front right. So had the timing chain replaced by ford. Cost me 25k ZAR. drive the car for a week all was well. Started making a hectic clanking again. So checked and replaced the front right mounting. And losing power and misfire. Boost was intermittent. P0012 error , So sttruggled getting a vvt actuator for 2 days. Mazda has a backorder from japan for 12 weeks. So got one from a place called goldwagen. So all went well. For abiut a week. Then started losing power and misfiring again.p0012 again Other two engine mountings. Also no stock at mazda dealership. So get two from another dealership 120 km away. All goes well for a day. And started that bull again. Went to a exhaust place cause knew with the mountings that were bad its possible for the manifold that broke or cracked. Took it in. So the gasket on the turbo exhaust had to be replaced. All went well for a week. Replaced rhe oil with 5w 20 oil and did spark plugs with the proper platinum spark plugs, did coil packs. Checked camsghaft position sensor. Noe im sitting with a f###ing p2088 error. (Present ) what am idoing wrong. No mods on the vehicle the engine only has 20 000km on it. Rebuilt from oem parts any suggestions. And no mods isnt when you have the only trouble.
@@HierarchyOfWeeds i got no check lighg the car runs good but is consuming alot of gas and when i hit it when is on boost it missfiring but is sometimes it do it sometimes i dont i think is the front fuel pump what you think?
Aye so I own a g35 and mine was making that same creeking noise and it was my lower control arms. It might be the camber plates but just make sure you check it
I replaced the driver side control arm cuz the ball joints had some play thinking it’d get rid of some of the sound, passenger one looked mint. Sounds like rest of the noise is still the camber plates
Exactly.. if he kept it stock he wouldn’t have any issues. I guess those are the risks you take when modifying your vehicle. But let’s make this CLEAR.. it has nothing to do with a Speed3 itself. But with his modifications.
@jjms3 sorry to seem like I’m being a jerk. It’s a beautiful car. And I used to have a 2016 Mazda6 Grand Touring myself. But I kept her stock, and put 45k miles on it when I bought it from Carvana. I never had any issues at all. One of the most reliable cars I’ve had. I think I’ve only replaced a bushing and an engine tensioner but this was all covered under my warranty at the time. It was a beautiful car I will miss it. In the beautiful red soul metallic. But I know speed3 is a bit different, it’s very nice your car. I’m just here to give my opinion, not to be a jerk. Sorry if it attended that way. 99k miles when I got rid of it.
@@jjms3 - Yep if you hadn’t modified it none of us would have known anything about you or your car! - I know some of your mods haven’t worked out but it’s always pretty interesting watching you do stuff to your Speed- Don’t get rid of it though as at least there’s plenty of other Speed owners on here ready to share info etc-
I just did coilovers and I've got all kinds of clunks and bumps now. Have to do sway bar end links when we lower. Even if you think it's not the issue.....do fronts at the minimum!! Edit: only at low speeds. Once I'm up to speed it's not bad unless I hit something decent sized.
Get that rs but remember it will be the same maintenance as a speed it’s FORD the 3 is a ford/Mazda so the motor basically break the same but rs holds more power
The RS has an open deck block with massive integrity issues compared to the MZR L3-VDT, the Ecoboost 2.0 is a vastly better engine than the Ecoboost 2.3.

Both the Duratec and EcoBoost are the same family of engines and share a vast number of similarities. Mazda developed a completely new generation of engines called the SkyActiv range of engines, Mazda's newer lineup share very little with the MZR/Duratec family of engines.
Yeah I'm at 151k and when I go full send around 6k see randomly battery light so guess my alternator is going out but she still cranks up and drives just fine. Honestly though bc of family and so much traffic in my state. Looking to sell my speed 3 and get an awd 2.0 ecoboost Ford Escape lol.
Prospective owners - Stock, the Speed3 can be dead reliable. My original motor made it to 225k without any trouble and without needing much more than wear and tear. Modified, this platform can be finicky, just like any other.

Maybe u ahould check the steering column shaft under the steering wheel.maybe that u joints is dry
When I lock my steering wheel something hopps or pulls the wheel maybe it’s my axles or tie rods but on a lift wheel don’t shake
Yeah my aftermarket parts aren’t always better, my aftermarket exhaust manifold cracked after 2k miles
Only on the 44mm EWG flange part, it received most of the heat and vibration on Chinese welds. Just get the Corksport Exhaust mani

RS has a shitty block that doesn’t hold up to more than stock power in most cases. Most people swap blocks for the 2.0 EB block.
