  • There is either thinking, which keeps one stuck in time or being, which is free of thought and of time. In the eternal now, suffering dissolves. There may still be pain, but the suffering generated from thought has ceased.
In this state, one can experience the essence of their true self.

The thinking his programed in us .. we all geared the same way .. the day you change your perceptions and control your thinking .. its like a muscle the more you train it .. the more you gain control of this illusion ... Its like reprograming your brain ...

Stuffing is not an illusion. Suffering comes from the self identification with illusions. In other words, suffering comes out of the belief in illusions.

This is VERY GOOD. I needed to hear it. I've had my struggles with addiction too. But I needed to hear what you're saying beyond addiction.... and I like the way you talked about letting go... because I've heard that repeatedly... but I ignorant about "letting go to whom?"
I also pick up... that you can also be easier on yourself. ((smile))

I spent years in chronic pain. It was devastating. Then one moment a realization dawned in awareness.
There will be discomfort, there may be pain. But this does not mean I must suffer.
In this I realized that suffering is a crisis of perspective generated for avoidance.
    There is no required suffering.

You discovered the second noble truth of Buddhism. Suffering is caused by craving, which either is wanting something that you can't get, or having something and not wanting it to end. This leads to attachment, which then leads to suffering. If you're fully in the moment, there is no suffering. Suffering is mind created.

Suffering well can be healing. Isnt all virtue borne of some suffering? To be strong or just or patient or compassionate will involve making sacrifices. Love is sacrificial. Understanding is the key to suffering well. There is redemptive suffering as well.

My God, you have figured everything out... I have a friend who was severely mental and physical mistreated the first year of her life, please explain to her that it's just an illusion and the fantastic key you have. Thinking is just the smoke coming from the "train" which has past in time. Her "being" is not love and have never been

I agree, it in fact can be a complete lack of compassion (here) and unwittingly evaluative of another’s experience, ie. “ You can or should do this rather than that.” How is that (disposition) being empathically holding a space and being mindful of another?

@@Neilgs He might be a very compassionate person. Though I am not getting that vibe myself. I find rules like these very alarming. I once knew a Tibetan Monk who claimed to know objective and quite fixed truths about the suffering and being of others. It didn`t go well for him. In my mind to claim to know what is right for others can generate very bad Karma for the apparent knower. This guy might really be an exception to what I have observed. Certainly don`t wanna scapegoat him ! Respect.

Hi Shane: I do not know whether you read these comments or not. I will go ahead and ask my question and I would appreciate an answer if you do see my question: At about 1 minute into the video, you state: " ...... there is pain and suffering is what WE add onto it with OUR thoughts, our thinking about it.....etc.". My question is WHO is the I or WE that are adding to it with thoughts ? WHOSE thoughts are those? In other words, is there a "thinker" who is generating these thoughts and going on a "thought ride"?

@@utualan You state: "Thoughts pop from the unconscious".
      My questions:
      1. How do you know there is something called "unconscious". (I am giving a provisional concession to the existence of "unconscious").
      2. If there is an entity such as "unconscious", what is its "stuff/substance"?

I'm sorry you're going through so much pain. The pain you're feeling is very real. The suffering you endure is your mind.
Sit with your emotions. Let the pain in your heart flow, but don't dwell on memories, or thoughts. Just feel yourself as you are now. Notice that pain, accept it.
The future isn't real or set in stone. The past is only in your mind. Forgive yourself for your past actions. Forgive her as well.
I promise you: You are much more capable and strong than you perceive yourself to be. You don't have to suffer the pain, just feel it while engaging in whatever it is you're doing at the moment.
It's hard to see now, but you will be ok, you got this.

    • @TerryFimbres

The pain is real you are experiencing a collective phenomenon. This is something more than a personal experience. Too many of us are experiencing it. So step up to a greater understanding of your value. Let those thoughts due what they need to do. Try not to follow along but when you do just acknowledge them. This is part of a process. Never get upset at yourself this is terribly hard. You are in a common process many of us are experiencing. It is evolution. What a crazy way this is transpiring. Be strong my friend. There is an end.
