Steve Smith you damn right. I'd advise everyone to listen/watch the full video of Dr. Jeffery lecture, instead. He has clarified all ambiguities there.
Steve Smith yes, of course there is more to the story than appears in that short clip. Apart from what follows on from the clip, the importance of which you rightly point to, there is also the story that precedes the clip, the story of the traumas that led the young boy Jeffrey into atheism and what strengthened his roots in atheism. The clip representing the critical point of return is so important that it can stand alone as an intro to further research. It corrects the position that man is a wretched being condemned to earth as a doomed sinner. No, the clip points out. Not according to that HQ verse. He is a noble creation with a lofty purpose to which he was directly appointed by the Most High Himself. The shortness of the clip makes that very positive and extremely important point stand out.
This is about Allah creating a being with "free will" to see who will serve and love him.. it is a gift bestowed on us... he doesn't force us to submit or love him... how can you define love when an angel was just created this way without the choice? We are given the choice to choose to serve and love or not... If love is not given freely then it's not true love, this is the test and purpose of this creation, the realm of free will and then we will have to account for what we did with this free will..
@@halogen5580 You overlooked the reason that Jeffery Lang concluded. He also thought the same thing, (god is cruel) until he realized that man is capable of great good and that man has are God's vicegerent on Earth. To say that god is cruel as a means to support Athiesm is to deny the blessing of life which God gave?
I feel that it is not fair to post just this bit of the whole 1hr 30 mnt speech. becuase in his later speech the speaker quotes the the answer the Quran gives which is a guideline for humans as to what essentially makes human a superior being and how it is also the key to Paradise.
The answer is pretty simple mentioned in Quran. As God already had created "Angels"(without freewill),then he wanted to create a more "superior" creation which was "human" in which he gives "freewill"(=ability to obey or even disobey),and who could go much beyond than the angels if he "obey"(with freewill) or go much beyond than devil if he disobey after "being shown or realizing the truth".But the question then why did God create us that way to be examined, and here is the catch,Allah say in Quran(7:172),"...Am I not your Lord(who cherishes and sustains you)?they say(whole mankind):Yes!we do testify!....",also say (33:72),"Almighty God indeed offer the trust to the heavens, and the earths and the mountains;but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof:but man being undertook it;-He was indeed unjust and foolish;-..",So before we came or come to the earth we all had been asked wether we want to go to give the test so that we could go above angel or just stay there, and we all also testified Almighty God.And when come down to earth those memories are brainwashed (and after the moment of death,we all could remember that instantly). But almighty continued sending his messages to inform people what's wrong or right throughout ages by sending Messengers and last and final one is the Muhammad(puh) and the final Revelation the Quran. For more plz watch this video at least 5 times, otherwise you wouldn't understand--m.th-cam.com/video/XEcocSZnk1g/w-d-xo.html
Who said "God created man evil"? The title says "Why Did God Create Humans With the CAPACITY For Evil?" The angels were asking this question because they know God has the power to create humans like they are, without the capacity for disobedience and, hence, evil. Do you understand now? :)
If, and I stress "if", we accept your premise that demons existed before the creation of Adam, it would make total sense that the angels would be surprised that Adam had the capacity for evil... as if to say to God "you're doing it again?!" ;)
According to Islam there are two creations of God that take on a spiritual form: Angels & Jinn. This Arabic word "jinn" may sound funny to those who don't know it but the English word "genie" comes from it. Angels do NOT have free will, they must obey God's command. For instance Angel Gabriel was entrusted with the task of delivering God's message to prophets on Earth. He CANNOT alter this message. However, Jinn have free will like humans. Satan is one of these jinn. So demons come from jinn.
Your question reminds me with a movie that I watched a few years back, when the humans made a very smart robot that can make a decision on their own and they start to take over the earth by killing all humans. So I asked my self why we assumed that the smart robot will corrupt the earth with bloodshed. Why we don’t assume the smart robot can do good things. Is this same case here where the angels assumed Adam would sin? Is the short of knowledge creates fear? We don’t need to know everything to ask questions I guess. The assumption or the question was asked because the short of knowledge. That’s all
No, angels don't have the capacity to do evil because they don't have the free will to do so. Demons came from the creation of Allah, from the lineage of Iblis(Satan), Satan and the Jinns were created by Allah from the smokeless fire. Iblis was once close to Allah, and elevated to a higher level, to the level of Angels, but his arrogance made him among the sinners who will be the dweller of the hell fire.
Because they were obviously made aware that this creation is not infinite and must die. Hence, it must have a reason to live. That test must be to have free choice like the previous creation, the Jinn.

Will you belive that the computing device you are using to write this comment was created by coincidence, so which is more complicated, the universes or what you are using to write this comment?!!
Allah wanted to test us, yes there is evil and good but Allah made us completely free to practice this evil or not, if someone told you look at this pill if you took it you will die and if you did not take it you will not die, if you took it when you was completely sane it is that person fault? If you made something evil the repented and regreted it and wanted to change Allah will forgive you, and if you faced evil acts during your life actually that is something temporarily bad for you just for a small period that is your life period. Because there is a day of judgment after death when Allah will punish the ones that did an evil act and harmed you for their acts, and if you faced hardships like being poor for example but still thanked Allah for the little food you have, Allah will reward you . So actually if you thought about it, if you choose good and didn't choose evil then that's all good for you .
