ato I love this show. good chemistry with mj as well. probably the best show so far. I can see the mutual respect between you two. waiting for the next one.
What's your thoughts of Coleman do you think he'll be around for the Olympics this year will America try to get them reinstated as they don't want to lose the gold ?
No way Johnson could have gone sub 19. His 2nd 100 in the WR was 9.2s at max effort in an Olympic final. He would have had to run a sub-9 sec 2nd 100m segment to pull that off because he simply didn't have enough straight up speed to do a first 100 on the curve in under 9.8secs. Not even Bolt could do that. He didn't have enough pure speed to even go sub-10 in a straight 100m. Only Bolt or Yohan Blake had the necessary speed, speed endurance and speed reserve to go sub 19 - Blake probably could have that night when he ran 19.26, if he had a legal favourable wind and didn't lose another 0.1 seconds on that ridiculous 0.27s RT missed start.
He already did go sub 19 in college in the relay. Don’t forget, he stumbled out the blocks in Atlanta and then had a pulled quad muscle 20-30 metres from the finish. Had those 2 things not happened he’d have definitely ran 18 seconds that night. And don’t forget that he’d also completed 4 rounds of the 400 prior to that, and 3 prior rounds of the 2 … so he was an absolute machine … and definitely capable of running under 19 seconds. Probably the only man to be so.
this is amazing! didnt realise johnson ran soo fast even at college!! 18.5 split?! thats inhuman!
It’s the fastest anyone has ever ran 200m. The guy truly is a freak of nature.

agreed, gr8 interview Ato, big respect Michael Johnson for the work u continue to do
I agree with you Micheal Jhonson. I go with you on Allyson Felix comment.
So nice and cool interviews Ato. Very well done.
I have increased respect for MJ based on his post career advice for athletes.
Ato Boldon has aged the way we should all hope to age; with class and decency and oh, so mellow. Not a bad interviewer either.
Ato is a top guy
Michael knows his sports inside out
awesome show

Is it just me or does Michael Johnson look darker now than he did in his running days?

Depends on the TV filter. Special programs differ their filters based on the audiences
What difference does it make?
