True. It's looking like it might be heading back that way, if the Westminster stop is popular. During the discontinuation, the train wasn't that big around here, so unpopular, there were only about 3 stops here, and the trains only had 3 cars.
They're planning to go to the Westminster area, near Fitchburg. At some point, they used to go to Gardner. Ridership there must've been real low to discontinue that.
Nice shot! Those cars remind me of our Shoreliners, but the locomotives aren't that similar. Kinda funny how both MetroNorth, LIRR and MBTA like to run the locomotives backwards...
Sometimes the bus to/from Gardner is busy, sometimes not...I think in the past it was about the money, no doubt, but it would be nice to go straight to North Station. A morning, noon, night and late night ride would be nice...I think people with cars are less inclined to bus, but a train might be a good way to save fuel consumption and give commuters a better option. More people would go to Boston on weekends I would bet. Employment is low too, so it could open opportunities.

I think they base it on the final resting spot for the day.
Glad you like it, there's one more full-distance viewing video left.
mbta trains are well maintained. this one is a bit loud though. i hear they are extending to west wachusett.
