This is an absolute masterpiece of a rendering !!, but and my hearfelt congratulations go out to PT Venkatesh Kumar for this dazzling Gaur Sarang. 65 years ago I had learned this raga (and much of the contents expresses here) on Sitar, with my Ustad Akbar Ali Khan Sahib who was in the direct lineage descendance of Ustad Bade Mohammad Khan Sahib, founder of the Gwalior gharana, and the teacher of the famous Haddu-Hassu Khan brothers. Today all of Maharashtra is singing the classical Vocal of Bade Mohammed Khan Sahib, but no one remembers it or cares to mention the debt owed to him. There isn't a single North Indian gharana of music, instrumental or vocal, who has not been taught or influenced by the founder Family of Ustad Bade Mohammed Khan, and his descendants Waris Ali Khan, Abbas Ali Khan and Akbar Ali Khan Sahib. I was lucky to have sat at the feet of my Ustad. Gaur sarang is one of my favorite ragas, and I heartily fold my hands to PT Venkatesh Kumar who has put his heart and soul into this performance. Wah!
One of the best renditions of Panditji till time. One of the best Gaud Sarang till time. Brought out the essence of the flamboyance of the raga. I particularly liked the drut Gwalior bandish, made famous by Pt DV Paluskar.
Sarang & gaud ka totaly l love rang alag alag dikhaya-filing bhi bhot badhiya hai efactive singing my indian pt ..ji..vainktas sir...( music teacher d r rana ) reply......Answer
