I still don't understand the sentiment about these two being hard. I think they're pretty middle-of-the-road on Lunatic, and downright easy if you're using releases.
A lot of Touhou themes are repetitive, but have different instruments that convey the main medley in different ways each time. When I first listen to a Touhou theme, it sounds like a bunch of jumbled noise going on at once, lol. (This is mostly the case in newer Touhou themes like some Stage themes in 15 and 16, and some PC-98 themes due to the more limited range of synthesized instruments.) But when you get to hearing the song multiple times, you begin to realize the patterns and how it's actually *put together* and not a huge mess of music. Always a good job, ZUN.

The boss is quite easy if you shoot down Mai first, since she doesn't attack from behind, buuuut you'll lose all your bombs and lives once you enter their first shared spellcard xD And also, stop talking about their resemblance to the life and bomb items, look at their hats instead xD

It's surprising how these two almost managed to usurp Clownpiece's title as "hardest Stage 5 boss" despite being in one of the easiest games in the series
then again I'm a normal player so Clownpiece was just incredibly difficult and bullshitty for me. I can deal with the basic overlapping patterns and a light amount of rng bullshit Mai and Satono throw at me, but I can't deal with fucking "hey you better have fast fucking reflexes bitch" bullshit.

I don't care what someone could say about me but seriously, this theme is so much repetititve, there's this melody and that on all the song there are just little parts(literaly there's only two parts where the main melody stops) that break this main melody. In most of the 5th stage boss theme the "main melody" changes for not feeling so monotonous but in this the theme for me it feels a little bit rushed. I heard this theme for the first time and I lost the loop point, also there is no variety on instruments on this song for making at least interesting this main melody during all the song and another thing for all of this and the monotony of this theme some people will get tired of this song quickly but others can hear it during all day but that is the taste of others.
