Brilliant! Glen, you are truly a gifted teacher. Your ability to break down complexity into simplicity is remarkable. I'm predominantly a visual learner. This clock method is a big help for me. Thanks man!
Thanks for that, Terry. Means a lot! I do spend quite a lot of time thinking about these things (sometimes too much 😄), and it stems from my having to figure out solutions to my own sticking points during my training journey. I try to use simple ways to convey not-so-simple messages because I benefit learning that way myself! Hoping this one helps out, and as always feel free to shoot a message on anything 👍🏾

haha, please do mate 😎 started thinking about this round about the second year of my training journey and it helped me out a lot. Always happy to run through it a bit more at one of the summer sessions also. Have a good rest of the weekend!
I’m a beginner and been struggling, I wasn’t thinking this exact same thing. My rhythm is not right. My hand movement and jumping are not in sync. First, I still have to practice wrist rotation, specially my left side. And I think that since I’ve always been active and doing junking jacks pretty fast makes me want to jump fast and I got to slow down. I haven’t seen videos about rhythm. I think this method of the “clock face” can help me lot. Thanks so much!!
Hey Dino, Great to have you join us here on the channel - the aim is that it will help you progress RAPIDLY! 🚀 As a quick introduction, this channel is all about putting a bit of a different spin on traditional jump rope technique and looking at our training differently. At the moment we’ve been taking a lil’ time-out from videos here on TH-cam in order to focus on a few other pressing projects, but they’ll be back in full swing in the next month or so Also, I'm glad you enjoyed this technique in particular 👌🏽 You might be pleased to know that I’m actually in the process of wrapping up a training handbook, it will comprise pretty much everything I have picked up in my experience training, good and bad, and it should be pretty much a guidebook of sorts for the rope training journey. The Clock Face concept will be one of the MAIN focus topics for working on jumping with ease and effortless rhythm. ⏰ Aside from that, if you’ve ever got any questions/queries feel free to send it along here on the channel if you wish - will help out whenever possible. Stay well, -Glen
Love your videos Glen...this one is a really helpful concept for a beginner like me who needs to think about timing for different techniques. Just got to practise it now!!
thanks a lot Mark! These videos are just trying to get people thinking about their rope training differently to unlock those sticking points, glad you enjoyed this one. Yeah, I started thinking about this approximately one year into my training journey and it helped me out a lot. All the best with your training, let me know how the practice goes 😎
Come out with more videos with the clock theory. Such as extended double under and cross over tutorials with the clock reference. Also, can u do advanced footwork videos in slow motion using the clock method?
also, just seen this second message from you. Yes I'll work on something for this video topic. The only thing is that there is quite a long list of videos I need to do first, so it might take a bit of time. But I'll DEFINITELY make a note of it and get it done. Will mention you in the video when it uploads as well 😎 Cheers, great suggestion, -Glen
Great to hear! I do spend quite a bit of time breaking techniques down in training and in my head to fully understand how to teach them; definitely means a lot that you thought it was useful. How'd your training session go? -Glen
hey Justin - apologies for the delayed reply; it's been quite hectic here lately. Thanks for the comment. This clock analogy is just one of a few training tools I've used, but it seems to have been really helpful for A LOT of people. Hopefully I can get some more stuff out on this soon. Will let you know 😎 I hope your training's progressing well 🏆 Cheers, -Glen
Hey Mobarak, thanks for reaching out and I hope your training has been going well. This rope is actually not an adjustable one and I had to order it for my size. But I do plan to get a video done for adjusting ropes in future so keep an eye out-I'm currently taking some time away from making videos here but will be back at it very soon 👍🏾
Hi Ed, good question. Though I don't really do extended sessions to see how long I can go, I've comfortably gone 20-30 minutes nonstop. Most sessions I'll go an hour or two, with little breaks for a couple minutes at a time for rest or if I want to change what I'm working on. But it's an interesting thought though, maybe sometime soon I'll do a video just jumping nonstop, possibly a live stream. Thanks again for reaching out; I hope your training has been going well lately in spite of the current challenges Cheers, -Glen
Glen, did Floyd Mayweather have you on Speed Dial? th-cam.com/video/BtwrGZnp9b0/w-d-xo.html I ran across this old video of Jersey Joe Walcott. I can't dispute that skipping and boxing learned from each other. Jersey Joe "skipping" in the ring fighting.

It’s the topic we were discussing in Victoria Park. It’s a nice way to time jumps and focusing on coordination.
yes Ale! you're right, and this one is BIG for unlocking timing and sharp coordination 👌🏾

Thanks for the video !

Hey Glen! I'm new to Jump Rope. This technique is simply amazing, I will use it to learn double unders and other jump rope tricks. Thank you!

This concept is genius. Gonna try it tomorrow.
Please do some slow motion videos zoomed in on ur footwork. Seem like footwork is the most important thing with jumping rope.
