I noticed a couple things. 1.) Not a Scratch Golfer defintely is just great with a flat stick. Dre had a ton more better looks at biridie on the front and should have been 2 or 3 up then. 2.) You chunked a few of your tee shots and were not punished by them because you played off hitting matts instead of grass. Overall great match.
Because of your influence, while working on my short game at the local First Tee facility... after hitting the chipping green I went ahead and played their 6-hole par 3, too. I did terrible. It humbled me. I will be back. I WILL master this course. Gonna take some work. Thanks for the encouragement.
Funny timing, I just got back from playing Kensington in the rain this evening! And... I had my first hole in one in about 20 years on the 7th! A bit cheap as it's a 65 yard hole but I'll take it haha. Followed it up with a double lol, overall played ok - I play off about 12 and shot 5 over. Great video as always by the way!
Man Adam, really great match and fun to watch! I really wish there was a pitch and putt like that close to me here in Houston (Katy, Tx). I'm going to win the Mega Millions and build a premier pitch-n-putt in my area. So good for your game! Keep up the great content sir!
Nice round! Looks like the greens were just as slow as the last time I went. If they speed it up during the summer there are definitely some treacherous greens / putts out there on holes like 1, 4, 7, 11, and 13!
When I invite my golf friends to P&P they react like they got a finger painting invitation. I'd play pitch and putt every day if I could! Timeless fun.
@@abgolf4 Thanks! Yeah, it was the last PnP in the Lower Mainland I hadn't played. Really enjoyed it. Still need to feature Central Park & Rupert Park on the channel!
@@NotAScratchGolfer Sunshine Woods in Delta is a good one. It's a little serious for a PnP though compared to the municipal PnP, lots of water, long holes etc
Pitch n putts are a great way to practice, as well as a lot of fun. There's one that just opened near me, only six holes (40,50,60,70,80, 100), but it has helped my approach game with partial wedges, and putting immensely. Now I just need to get my greenside chipping in better shape. I'm not aggressive enough, afraid of running them way past, and often leave them way short. That has cost me a lot of unnecessary bogies this year.
Pitch and putts are VASTLY underrated for mid-high handicappers. We dont have one in my area but if we did I would probably exclusively play it for a whole season. Getting back into the game after years not playing I can drive fairly well, make good iron contact, but my card killers are absolutely chipping/pitching. I could see myself shaving 5-10 strokes off a round easily if I were better there. not having a teacher or anything, I greatly underestimated this part of the game and plan on exclusively practicing chipping/pitching/putting until Im better. you dont win matches with a driver lol
I’m barely a single digit handicapper, (9.8) and one thing I’ve noticed is that when I play with friends who are much better than me, for some reason I always play better too.
Not sure if it’s just me but those logos/video links at the bottom that appear before the video ends meaning I can’t see the scorecard! Surely there’s a setting to fix that on my end or your end?
Well you really show how important the inside 100 yds game is. No doubt, here`s where you really shave off strokes. You beat a scratch golfer with 2 strokes on 18 holes. Thats really well played. !
I’ve started counting how many feet of putts that I make in a round. It’s a direct correlation to my score EVERY TIME. The tour average is about 75’ of putts made per round(the winners are over 100’). When I beat that number, I’ll shoot even par, or slightly under. However, on days where I make less than 50’ of putts, I’ll shoot mid to high 70’s. You have to make putts. Period. To put this in perspective….. Picking up a 1.5 foot gimme on every hole will only give you 27’ of putts made. That won’t cut it. lol. Even making a 3’ putt on every hole is only 54’. Still won’t cut it. If you’re someone that can get the ball somewhere on, or around the green in regulation, then you can play scratch golf, if you make putts. It’s generally 40% of your score. Let that sink in, and take putting more seriously.
What loft is your GW? Yes your swing is unorthodox. It works for you and that’s good. But you WILL have to take some lessons and correct your back swing. I can only imagine how much better of a ball striker you’ll be. You’re playing all my local courses, fun to see ✌🏼
@@NotAScratchGolfer Hahaha. For sur it is coming. Guy is just knocking down pins over and over and over again then greens at a stimp of 7 or so and all of them are on a driveway shove it right into him!
I think your ball striking is generally consistent. I'm always unsure how much to pursue a "better" swing. I feel like my swing limitations will ultimately limit my ability to be the best golfer I can be.
A friend of mine who's a pro subscribes to the theory that every swing has a "minimum" and "maximum" potential. I buy into the idea that you need certain fundamentals. Still, I think a lot of people chase "perfect" swings when they don't need to.
So I was curious as to whether you would take lessons to try and “improve” your unconventional swing. Looks like I have my answer. Thanks for the great content. PS I sent you an email a while back. Not sure if you got it. It was to a gmail account that you gave a guy to set up a match.
@@regulareverydaynormalgolfer you can’t do both. Either focus on swing and forget about your score until you’r changes are consistent. Or, work with what you’ve got work and focus on your score. If you don’t give yourself a tick when you push a ball into the trees while working on a draw with a smoother swing then don’t bother, you’ll start hating golf.
I've been shooting about 5-10 over at my local executive courses and I know even par or better are just a few GIRs away. The par 56 and 58 courses I play are an awesome way to keep my short game sharp and stay confident on the tee box. It doesn't matter if it's a short course, mental preparation and routine still apply to every shot.
Great match. We both almost folded like lawn chairs on 18 haha. Rematch soon!
It seems unfair that I never aired our match at Rupert Park. I think I shot 120 that day. Let's do more PnP and a match at a big boy course soon!

Love the PNP content. Shows where the scoring happens and reminds me that I need to play more PNP instead of being a range warrior.
