    I'm off of 14 at the minute, my short game really improved this summer after putting in the work and having a short game lesson. I would hope that in 18 holes under 100 I would shoot in the +3 to +8 range on most days. Think I would have to have a really good day with the flat stick to be anywhere near the E to under scores.
    Love the relatable content, keep it coming Adam

      I'm the same way Michael. My handicap is currently 11 and I'd like to say my score would be anywhere between +4 and +7. It would really depend on the putter and close range chipping if I miss a green.

    this is the content I am here for!
    I am currently sitting around a 12 and it's definitely my chipping and pitch shots around the green that make up the majority of my lost strokes. I could watch P&P content all day long - not too many shots more satisfying in golf than chipping it close and saving par.

    Great stuff Adam. I’m a 7-8 handicap that started 5 years ago. Went from 36 putts per round down to 30. Had a round a few weeks ago where I had 24 putts with 12 1-putts. Inside my sand wedge of 115 I’d probably be over par. Need to work on this part of my game. I’m fine around the greens but between 55-90 yards is not great.

  • @Arminian100

    22.3 Handicap. I can play down around 18 if I'm driving on point, or upwards of 30 if I'm spraying with the driver. Fairway woods are my best clubs, but I still have the occasional bad top.
    Inside 195y - 120y is a horrible area for me. I can't hit my long irons. I clean up nicely from 120y-35y where I can dial my number really well. I'm also a better putter than most I play with. But chipping and pitching inside 35 is a real disaster zone where I cost myself a lot of strokes. A lot.
    I really need to start laying up from inside 200. PW for 120, followed by a nice lob from 45 feels like something I can count on. Much better than shaking a 5 iron, and then thinning my pitch over the green, just to chunk the next one short and have to clean up with a solid 2-putt.

    The golf app I use says I"m a 12.5 but my game keeps improving after three years of play and practice. I play a decent amount of executive golf and have been getting a lot of single digit rounds on the local par 64 course (yardages from 80 to 150 on the par 3s up 230 yards on the two par 4s). If there was an 18 hole,100 yard or less course and I only had to use wedges, I think I could shoot 3-5 over since I practice those shots a lot at the range and work on my putting a lot.

  • @lindsaynewell6319
    @lindsaynewell6319 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very tidy short game as usual Adam and thanks for the reminder that I should play my local muni 9 hole short course a LOT more, especially as it has grass tee boxes, which I think does make it a bit less forgiving than mats (and translates better to 'real' golf). At 922 yards, it's quite long for a pitch and putt and I've never really kept score - only played it as an early morning solo, playing 2-3 balls for practice.
    UPDATE: thanks for the inspiration Adam. Played 9 holes on Thursday in +5. 18 holes on Saturday (9 holes playing 2 balls) in +4 and 18 on Sunday in +1. Time to see if I can take the improved short game to the big course now 🤞

    Good stuff! I don't have an official cap, but my average score is 81.5 currently. I only have a six hole pitch and putt by me. I can usually get around there in 18-20 strokes. I shot one under there one time only.

    If you're ever in Portland, OR there is a great pitch and putt course called Edgefield you have to check out. Has a 20 hole and a 9 hole course. It's fairly challenging (lots of elevation) and the Edgefield property has a couple restaurants and bars scattered around. Super fun course!

  • @alexshearer3227
    @alexshearer3227 ปีที่แล้ว

    3 handicap with strong wedge game. Prob not quite as good putter as you, but I’d expect to hit 14+ greens and shoot under par almost every time on 18 holes with every hole 100 yards and below. -2 or 3 on average with really good days at -6 and poor days no more and 1 or 2 over

      Thanks, Jared! I still haven't played Murdo Frazer, but aside from that I think I've hit 'em all. It's hard to pick one. I grew up playing Queen E and I still like its layout the best. Unfortunately they've really let it go in recent years and I don't visit much anymore. I'd say it's a tossup between Stanley Park & Ambleside for the most scenic. I enjoy Central Park and Kensington quite a bit, too. I think the most challenging goes to Rupert.

    Not sure if anyone else has this issue, but on a “regular” length course, I feel really decent with my wedges (140 yds and in) and strike the ball best with those compared to anything else in my bag. When I play the par 3 course here, I fall apart and start blading or fatting every shot. Maybe I just have “tee shot” nerves?

  • @harveyredderz5861

    I’m an 11 cap. Most of the time I’m confident in the 70-120 range as I have a wedge for most distances in there but the shorter chips is my main weakness. Not getting up and down around the greens often enough.
