so happy to have found your channel, this is GOLDEN and incredible to watch as someone who'd like to go into animation !! thank you for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge
The small details you threw in about "eye masks" and having the eyes be considered luminescent were very useful to me. I already made eyes more reflective and even luminescent in animations I've done before, so I'm glad to know that one of my favorite movies also did that (I would second guess myself if I didn't realize that, lol.) I'm definitely subscribing!! I found you on your short about Wish's lack of motion blur and I was fascinated and also impressed with your constructive criticism that was done in a respectful way.
I'd be really interested in seeing your thoughts on Unicorn Wars. It's a fairly low budget war/horror film using a mixture of 2d and 3d animation, and it's all done EXCLUSIVELY in Blender. I think there's some interesting stuff there.
Dude! Love the point about the eyes! Definitely been working on that more for my Bionicle projects and making them more expressive! Also, shot for shot breakdown? Please!
5:50 just a nitpick and a useless one at that, but the TMNT also based in a comic world. The TMNT were originally a comic book ,and a bloody one at that, before being bought out and used as a child cartoon. The gritty and dark asthetic was abondoned mostly until The Last Ronin, however some project came out to honor its roots. The 2000s show brought back a darker TMNT to a newer generation but was quickly replaced when nick got the rights. I got TMNT #1 and #2 first editions, OG TMNT stories are a very good read with badass art too.
I don't really know if it's your thumbnail or something like that but i keep missing your videos but I DO have notifications enabled :((( that make me sad. Also, did you saw that Annecy festival will have an VR area? VR animated movie era soon for real babyyyyyyy
Haha well I’m glad you found your way here! I do swap out the thumbnail quite frequently just to see what works and what doesn’t (you know how it goes). But yes I did see that! I think it’s great and it gives me something to aim for with my own VR film! 😁
Personally, I'm not a fan of changing the art style for (direct) sequels since it feels disjointed, but TLW is the only hybrid film that had a style I enjoyed.
I really like this video, but it was a bit disturbing how you talked so fast. It felt like a youtube short, where you have to scram as much interesting info the video as fast as possible so that the audience doesnt swipe away. Idk, maybe today this is necessary to get a good watchtime for your videos, but it made me kinda uncomfortable. It's nearly fast enoughfor me to watch on 0,75x speed, but then I can't really experience how the scenes with one frame charcters and two frames characters look. Also, I would love to get some detailed analysis of the fight and also the arcane animation would be a really great topic for this channel.
I generally prefer the animation of the first puss and boots movie. I found a lot of the stylistic choices distracting (I had the same issue in Spiderman) but there were a lot of things that I enjoyed about it too. None of the things I disliked took away from my experience of the story. What a fantastic movie
Pls make a breakdown of the last fight scene in puss n boots and about arcane
I agree, especially with Arcane as well. I'm really excited for the upcoming season, and what more they do with that style
A fight scene breakdown and an Arcane video would be really great, your insights into these topics are always so darn interesting!
Should be a fun challenge! Thanks for the kind words😁
I don't know who you are, or how you ended up on my for you page, but I'm subscribing for this quality.
Welcome to the party!🎉
Haha
same
Just came from the spiderverse video, thx for reminding me to subscribe
Same
Would love a analysis on the Death and Puss fight scenes
Arcane VFX breakdown would be awesome! Hands down my favorite show rn
I love the stylization better that they used from the Spider-verse for Last Wish. Makes Puss seem a lot cuter with his animation.
Oh yes! A break down of that fight scene would be awesome!

So happy you found this channel!! Thanks for being here🙏✌️
More videos please! A breakdown of the Puss vs death fights would be amazing. And Arcane too!
That is a super helpful way to frame it: the visual effects speak about the world of the story and the characters.
I would love to see both the Puss in Boots fight scene analyzation and the Arcane 2D effects video!
