    Wow - I love it :)
I wish there was an easy way to shop for mini fridges that have external condensers.

I want one of the Tim's handmande fridges.
It is unfortunate that it costed your sanity to make it work.
Pro tip: I use (squared) small 1L watter bottles at the end of the fridge so it keeps glass shelves cooled even when i put lowest setting available to reduce runtime in ridicilously loud compressor. Milk and yeast are always cold to the touch and stable even if ambient isnt always great.

Haha I learned a LOT and refrigeration has always piqued my interest!
The mini-fridge vapor-pressure thermostats are notorious for being tough to get just right (turning on around 39F and off around 34F)
Having a nice temperature buffer with the water bottles (or maybe even a few beers) is definitely a great bet!

Some of your chosen editing effects were a little weird, but great video. Enjoyed watching your fridge-destroying-and-repairing journey.

Interesting video, Tim. I, too, have put a drill through a fridge (well, freezer, in my case) door in an effort to fit a better latch.
What I would REALLY like to see you do is convert a small 110v mini fridge into a 12v by swapping the condenser over as well as doing any other essential replacements and/or adjustments necessary to make it work effectively. I have read about this and seen a couple of inadequate videos on the subject but nobody has done it properly and I know you are the guy to do this and do it so it is easy to follow and understand to the point of being able to do it myself. I like the size and shape (and price) of a regular mini fridge with a small ice box inside and it would fit in my truck camper but I would rather have 12v. What do you think?

Certainly doable! The 12v compressor swap was what I originally had planned.
I spent a month looking for a deal on a 12v compressor. New ones were ~$150 and used 12v compressor-based fridges seemed to be just as much if not more.
(used 120v fridges are usually $40 or less - sometimes free)
I share your desire for the 12v fridge setup, unfortunately it just didn't make sense financially.
Hopefully 12v compressor prices come down at some point - I agree it would make a great video!
      -Tim

R134a is less volatile, not non flammable....Anyway, I wouldn't use propane in anything patched with JB Weld either.

hello can a 1/2hp compressor be replaced with a 1/3compressor, and will it be much difference??

Would this work for something like a slushy machine? I have one with a non working R290 compressor but the overall layout seems the same as a mini fridge

Ever try the canned keyboard cleaner? I've recharged my car AC with it with pretty good results.

Haha unfortunately it finally gave out with the constant thermal cycling. Grabbed a new (used) fridge for $100 and used a thermal camera this time to avoid hitting any refrigerant lines ☠

Would like to know what adapter you used to fill it back up and how did you close it?

      amzn.to/3OeMA0X
It's a clamp style valve with a self piercing needle. You can open and close the valve with the included hex key.

I can appreciate your hard work, and the fact that you learn for this, but if you had bought a better fridge from the start, I think it would be cheaper in the end.

I can agree to that for sure.
Wish there were a better market for mini fridges with active fan cooling.
