    Hello Doc, I just watched your Levelling video of your website, it is very well done and it will teach the least experienced person how to do it right. I don’t think ANYONE has done it that well. Thank You for putting it that well.

    I recently took on the task of trying to bring a severely neglected lawn to life. My dad passed a few years back and I have moved into his old home down in South Carolina. Myself I just have never really taken the time to work on any lawn. The front lawn has huge oak trees scattered around so tons of shade. I cut down a big magnolia in the side lawn and that left me with a huge muddy mess. I just mainly have mud, moss, and weeds with a touch of grass. I bought a bunch of seeds (tall fescue) and spread them where the magnolia was as a little test. Well then I stumbled across one of your videos and a hour or so later and alot of videos I realized I went about it all wrong 😂 I raced to Lowe's in a panic and grabbed a bag of starter fertilizer and 2 weeks later I have this side lawn that is AMAZING! I have caught the bug BIG TIME! I seeded a fertilized the entire front lawn and it looks good on the drive buy. Its super dark green now. The fertilizer i bought had extra iron and really helped alot. I have been using manual sprinklers and hand watering. Believe it or not that was the most overwhelming thing to me. Water 😂. I have a TON of white clover and want to get rid of it and the other weeds. I am going to order a pull behind areator and a manual for tight spots like you showed in your video. I just believe it may be to late for that?Or can I just go ahead instead of waiting for fall to aerate, top dress, and overseed? This is probably the longest "comment" in TH-cam history 😂 Sorry about that but im just overly excited and have no friends that care about grass. Thanks for all the videos. I'll be watching.

    We've been in drought for two years, with spring/summer temps well over 100f. I think it's rained 6 times in two years. Also on full water restrictions. Not allowed to water lawns. Everything is dead dead dead. Fingers crossed the drought should break middle of 2020. Im here to learn as much as I can so I can get my grass back up and running as soon the rains arrive!!

    I might be missing something. You do the drench water once a week, and then one or two days after you do a healing water for six minutes per station at 0500 and 1600. How many times a week do you do that?

    I have a Texas lawn, trying to “Docize” it. Thanks for this video! Btw you should check out a Rachio controller for your sprinkler system. It’s amazing! I just picked one up and it has wind skip, freeze skip, and it lets the water soak into your lawn! Keep it up Doc!

    I wish we had drought conditions. Installed an irrigation system & haven't been able to use it yet because it's been raining every other day for months. So much rain that it's keeping me from throwing down all the PGF & Superjuice that I bought. We've been having near record flooding here around St. Louis and we're waiting for it to end. If it ever does, then this will be good to know.

    Doc, get you a soaker hose for the dry spots you have.. just curl it over your bad areas and walk away. . They are like $14 for a 50 ft . Some of the other postives are it conserves water and it does a more deeper watering. I'll set mine for 45 mins to an hour.. I plan on getting another 50 ft so I can cover more area. I have a big lawn like you do

Should I drench on mon spot water everyday and do healing wed and Friday. I sprayed fungicide on my lawn because it was turning yellow in some spots is that due to over watering or disease?

    You would freak if you saw how they water lawns here in Phoenix. If you drive around the older neighborhoods near the Canals you'll notice all the lawns have these raised mounds around them. That is to hold in the water when they flood irrigate. Those are the only areas around with decent lawns and landscaping.

    Not asking Doc in specific but anyone who wants participate. How much square footage do you water and how much is your monthly water bill. I know there all all kind of things to factor in but just ball park. I always wonder what everyone is willing to spend to keep lawn looking good. I'm in west texas and water about 9k sq foot lawn. I also have a flower bed and small veggie garden. My bill averages 200 dollars in summer months. Oh and I have bermuda and a inground irrigation system.

    Hey Doc! I’m truly asking because I’ve been researching this like crazy but doesn’t the container you use to collect water make a difference of the depth of water you get? Example your Tupperware vs a tuna can. Wouldn’t the tuna can have more depth due to it being smaller?
    I’ve been trying to convert that inch of water into ounces. Am I on the right track with my thought or am I over complicating things?

    • @jylcorazon1376
      @jylcorazon1376 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tuna can works well, I use 8 cat food cans. The important thing is the container has a flat bottom and straight sides (No angle).

      Yes, both Barb's and WW lawns are burned out. Very sad.

    • @floridalawns509
      @floridalawns509 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will come back eventually but in the areas where it dies off you give room for weeds to grow so watch those areas when you start to get rain. Its a hard process but if you want a beautiful lawn it takes time and a bit of money like any hobby. My St.Aug went 27 days in 90° heat with no rain or water and im watering every other day with impact sprinklers about 20 min per zone and its bounced back real nice after about 2 weeks. Also dont mow a heat stressed lawn. Let it grow long so the soil stays as moist as possible. You can also put down peet moss in super dry spots to hold water. Hope this helps.
