    Another question, the ones that have a photograph, aren’t they on a plastic canvas, not cotton canvas? If so, would you just put gesso on first before painting with acrylics? TIA

      most of the photo are on cotton canvas that i have found . some are on plastic canvas. both take acrylic paint well. i use the top quality white paint from a paint store . cheaper and goes on very smoothly

    If the piece was finished, over oil, would the yellow still come off?

      are you asking about painting it over in oil or finding an oil painting. if you use oil paint it goes on nicely over acrylic gesso or paint. but if your previous picture that you are repurposing over is oil, then you cannot use acrylic over it. it will crack. not sure what you mean by the yellow coming off.
