    Played one at the store. I will tell you this - it’s sounds very close to harmonics trapped in a vacuum. It sounds better than most tube amps I’ve played/can afford. The way it cleans up with the volume knob on the guitar was like injecting drugs into your tone! Incredible tones!

  • @QuoVadis88

    You have to tell people to listen to this demo on something better than computer speakers. Some guitarists just don't comprehend how forward thinking this amp is. It is obviously the way of the future. The Special is a game changer. The way the Strat was a game changer back in 1954. Finally, an amp that can do it all.

    this amp is legit, dylan talks tone had this guy that owns every vintage tube amp fender has offered, given his tube "biasing", he gave this amp a whirl and said he'd gig with it. He even said it does certain tone things that the tube fenders did. S0LD . It even haS touch response kinda like tube (a good tube amp will have better but that's tube for you) amps do. I'm looking for a SS amp for JIC situation (cuz my only two tube amps both blew tubes the tweed champ and twin . . . so I had to go acoustic until 2 weeks later when replacement tubes arrived in the mail.

    Listened with headphones and still had difficulty hearing the differences introduced by the bright, American/British and presence switches. Wish amps would be demoed using single coils. Hummers always seem to mute clean tone subtalies.

    • @QuoVadis88
      @QuoVadis88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With the amp in the room you can FEEL the difference. Headphones are ok but do not capture all the magic. The 100 features should be enough to show you this amp rocks.

      youtube doesn't really reveal sonic differences in gear very well whether it's amps, monitors, speakers or whatever. I often watch videos where the demonstrator obviously hears some big changes, but I don't. I only use Les Pauls and humbuckers, so I like to hear gear demonstrated with them.

    Thanks Mitch. UI am saving up f9r one of these amps. I am using a Blues Cube Hot. With the correct footswitch (FS-6) the Hot is effectively a 2 channel nowhere near the versatility of the Nextone Special. I already sold all of my tube amps.

    Thanks for demonstrating the various sounds and effects of the Nextone. I am essentially a "The Shadows-type" lead guitarist and wonder if the Nextone has the effects and capability of producing sounds like those played by 'The Shadows', eg The Frightened City. Peace Pipe, Wonderful Land, and many other sound effects of the Shadows? If the Nextone has the effects I require, not only would I invest in one, there will be many more 'Shadows' enthusiasts who would make these investments too.. Please advise. Kind regards, Henry

    Can anyone answer a question about this amp?
    I want to access more presets via a MIDI footswitch. Apparently, Roland says no. I was hoping to find the correct midi footswitch, load presets into it from the software, load those instantly into the amp ,no computer at a gig . This amp has a midi in but not a through.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your interest! Sorry, but the MIDI functionality on the Nextone Special will only work to toggle between the three tone settings (four if you include the “panel” setting) programmed into the amp. You can also use MIDI to switch channels between clean and lead, toggle effects on and off, or use an expression pedal. However, you won’t be able to access more than the three presets. Hope this helps, and feel free to contact me directly with any further questions!

    Does anybody know if the effects loop on this model is buffered?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your message, great question.
      While many modern amps have buffers in the effects loop, the BOSS Nextone does not. It’s not common at this price point and since many effects units have output controls, not entirely necessary. You can add an independent buffer if you like, we can help you select one!

    This maybe my most favorite *all the things* amp I've ever heard. But is it possible to go high gain metal with it? I don't mean modern metal, more like 80s/90s era thrash and death metal. Or does it at least play well with high gain over drive or distortion pedals?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, John! I guess it could depend on exactly where you want to get your gain, you could definitely use some of the more driven tones in an 80s/90s thrash setup if you play with the EQ - you could set the tube switch to EL34 for more of a Marshall JCM tone or 6L6's for a 6505 vibe. You can mess with some extra drive/distortion pedals on the front end if needed and you have an effects loop on this, too, so it's definitely built to take pedals. Let me know if you have any questions!

      No, I have plenty of amps. This amp rocks. Has so much control over sound. You spend enjoyable time finding lots of great sounds and then save those sounds. You can also do everything manually when you know the room, your guitar and the amp.

      @@BobbyCulpepper.srv3fender Boss makes the Katana cabinet out of MDF. It's not real wood. It's not a serious amp. The Nextones and Roland Blues Cubes are made out of real wood "features poplar plywood construction, which offers acoustically vibrant tone for solo or group performances". Plus the Special is miles ahead of any other amp in tone, versatility, power. I have one. It is the best amp I have ever played. I also have Fender and Mesa Boogie amps. I have good amps. The Special has more tones than all of them. Do an A/B comparison with any other amp live and you will hear the tone. You can't get the tone from computer speakers. It's the future of amps. Fender had to cut the prices of their Tonemaster (Pine cabs) amps because they know they can't compete with the Special.

      This is a great amp. You can't be listening to this amp over computer speakers. I have this amp. You have to hear it live to understand. I have an earlier version of this type of amp. A Roland Blues Cube Hot British EL84 modified. It sounds like the real thing, without tube eccentricities. You can't go wrong with this amp. I have vintage Fenders and Mesa Boogies.
