I'm working backwards a bit, just watched you getting your new ride after watching your visit to Williams yesterday. Since I live in the same general area I'm planning to pay them a visit in the near future.
Those royal enfields look so sweet. And I feel you on the more comfortable seat, the seat concepts seat I bought got my 250l was the best upgrade i invested in lol
Been watching for a while as i too started on a crf250l and my first offroad was at Pike State. I realized that the bike wasn't great at on road or off-road. I sold it, got a crf125fb for off-road, and a Royal Enfield INT 650 for the road. Much better in both regards. I later test rode a Gold Wing bagger at a dealer open house and was hooked. Goodbye INT650 after 2k mi, hello Gold Wing. I also upped my off-road game with a CRF250F. Perfect for my off-roading. During the dealer open house I also rode the Himalayan, Meteor, and Hunter. If i wanted an around town bike I'd pick the Hunter, otherwise i didn't feel any of them were much good over 50mph, and I'm 170lbs. After 4k on the Gold Wing GL1800BD, I realized i wasn't ever going to tour with it and was getting over the DCT, so a week ago i traded it in for a used 2023 Kawasaki Versys 650 LT. So far i think i like it the best of them all. I've ridden it 400mi already. I commute to work, and or just go ride around the country side for an hour or so. I think you might like the saddle bags as they are a good size. I have to get milk at least once a week.😅 Test ride, that's my advice. Check will dealers to see what their test ride policy is, some will just require license and insurance, others will basically make you just about buy the things first. Have fun and be safe.
Thanks for sharing this! I have had so many of the same thoughts! The CRF250L is versatile and capable but you’re right, it isn’t great off road and it isn’t great on road either! It’s kind of heavy for a “light bike”. I haven’t had much success at test riding at dealers.
You should definitely get a turbo busa its the best bike for crusing around The riders triangle is really relaxed you don't have to hunch forward at all, definitely consider it And on top of all that its really cheap to buy and maintain 😊
You should join me on a Kawasaki ZG1000 Concours. Built like a tank and sport touring is super comfortable to ride. The older ZG1000's won't get you in as much trouble as the newer C14's. There's a huge supportive community around that bike and they are a ton of fun. Next time you're up this way you can stop by and try mine out.
I like to ride reasonably fast on what's considered slow bikes. My rebel 500 is a good example. I plan on getting something new this year and I still have a few motorcycle to try. I tried the speed 400 and it was quite fun. I heard the scrambler was similar. You could also try honda cl 500. I heard good things about Guzzi v7 and royal Enfield line up.
Have a HD Iron 883 first bike...love the looks...but ER meteor 350...triump 400...cfmoto 700 cl x...ducati scrambler sixty2....all of them got my attention...
If you’re thinking about the super meteor 650 check out the shotgun 650 it is the same engine just different triangle, pegs are more mid so if you like going through curvy roads they will handle better, and it just came out this year.
Everything on your list looks pretty good except I personally don't like big bikes so the goldwing would be out. If I got a Royal Enfield that hunter 350 is a gorgeous little bike. The 500x would be a fabulous all arounder and still be good on gravel roads an is very efficient and reliable.
I watched your video of the bike shop with some older Japanese classics those are going up in value but not a type of bike I would recommend. I myself like older British bikes but in all honesty you may find yourself working on it as much or more than riding it. I like Honda's of the 1980's & 1990's in the motorcross and atv /atc flavor just imo honda has not been a player in the motorcycle or motorsports arena in close to two decades. I just watched a few videos this past week on the Triumph speed 400 and that seems like a decent little bike. I've also considered a Royal Enfield INT 650 myself they have been around awhile now and a lightly used one could probably be had for not much money then again they are priced good even new. I'd go test ride a few bikes to see what feels like a good fit.
@@arideinthecountry The shops that don’t allow test rides I won’t do business with that includes buying parts and I’ve bought a lot of parts over the years.
I had dreamed of getting a Rebel 500. I was rocking a Rebel 250, which I rode everywhere from 2015 to 2022, when I hit a deer with it (16,100 miles on the odometer - far more than half those miles were from me). After months of recovery, my mechanic talked me into a Suzuki S40, which I completely regret getting and can't warm up to. I went from riding several times a week and at one point using that little Rebel as my daily driver, to only riding twice in all of 2023 with the Suzuki. I hate how temperamental the carb is on the Suzuki. If it gets humid, it just keeps trying to stall out when idling. Make me feel like I am going to end up stranded somewhere. The Rebel 250 was slow as dirt, but never gave me any issues besides when the clutch needed to be replaced. I would say get what you like and want, and don't let anyone talk you into anything else.
A Ride in the Country, This made me laugh so hard, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Williams is such a cool place. If you get the chance, I’d recommend checking it out.

I’ve heard that a but the Seat Concepts seat! I keep looking at it and haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I need to get one! Thanks for watching!
What !!! you clearly are an amature the only bike that's worth considering to buy for anyone is a turbo busa anything else is just tharsh

Solid advice 💪🏼💪🏼
Get both. Live a little!
I like the way you think! 👍🏻
Scrambler 400X. Good progression to the next step up. A little more road based than your current ride, but still comfortable on a gravel road.
An affordable Bonneville starter kit?
@@arideinthecountry or a Rocket 3 Storm GT. 😈🤣

Test riding is the best advice. A lot of the places in my area don’t permit test rides.

Busa!
Woohooo 🥳
Ever thought about a Honda CX500? Great bikes, low maintenance
I looked at a CX500 “variant” The GL500. I liked it but it felt a little too heavy for me.
I had a '80 CX500 street bike back in the day. Low maintenance, shaft drive bike. Super reliable!
Triumph!!
Gotta love a Triumph!
I really thought you’d recommend the Turbo Hayabusa… 😂
