    Funny part is that customer would have only had to wait 13 mins at Islip for the train back to Bay Shore. What a waste of $$$ for that Uber.

    Thank you so much for taking me down memory lane on this lovely LLIR train ride on a sunny afternoon. Can't tell you how many times i started to nod off after Mastic/Shirley @40:11 and totally missing my stop at the Center Moriches only to wake up in Speonk, lol. Hubby and I always managed to laugh about it since it was a good reason to have a late dinner at the nearby restaurant; not sure if it was called the Trolly Barn?!

    Nice ride!! Nice video!! There are usually passengers who aren't paying attention on most trains. I've never been on the wrong train or missed my stop.
    Thanks RR for your commentary.😀😀💚💚

    I was home bored today and was wondering what it was I was missing in my life today and realized it was seeing the train enter the stations. This video helped me out with that drought

    Horns in NY are much better than most of the Garfield’s we have here.

    • @3985uprr
      @3985uprr  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some of the Garfield‘s have decent horns. That’s the only grace I will bestow on them!!! Do fans use that nickname on those horrid things???

    • @MiddleboroLakevilleRailfan
      @MiddleboroLakevilleRailfan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We call em Pevo’s (for their gevo-12 prime mover) smooth turds, but the most common nickname is hisp. Also I can agree, the 2000 and 2001 happen to be unrestricted with their K5LA’s the 2010 is horridly fouled and sounds more like 1028. At least your trains have manual valves!!

    Retired Railfan there is two ways to get to the Private Railroad Crossing either go to old Barto rd and walk on the trail to the crossing or there is a trail by old stump rd that goes to the Private Railroad Crossing. Just let the LIRR know that the Private Railroad Crossing needs new signals. They haven’t been working for about 25 to 30 years.

      The trail you speak of is loaded with brush likely full of ticks in the summertime. It needs signals period.

      @for the love of God Long Island is gorgeous. If I had the money, I'd surely get a summer home out in the Hamptons or Montauk. One right near the shore to go fishing.

      @for the love of God That is cool. Once you get to Suffolk, it's like you're in the south in some areas there.

    New York ANG changed the unit's nomenclature somewhat, designating it the 106th Rescue Wing. They fly both the C130 and the HH60 Pave Hawk helicopter.
