    1. Its basically a Toyota if you ignore the badge (Toyota Rush), only with some cost cutting measures, like different dashboard design and maybe slightly thinner metal.
    2. Same engine as outgoing Myvi but slightly detuned (im sure you can go for retune)
    3. Go Malaysia (once open) and the possibility to add all sorts of accessories is open.
    4. The Toyota version is quite popular in Indonesia.
    5. Theres a YT Video of a Malaysian reviewer testing this car with full load, up to Genting - made it up there in one piece although slow (but you dont travel to Genting everyday what)
    6. No resale value unfortunately due to the brand.

    Over here in Malaysia, the variant that you're doing this review on is the X variant (without fog lamps) . The one I own is the AV (Advanced) variant. Personally I think it is a pretty good vehicle. To some, the 1.5 engine my seem underpowered but once you get it up to speed, it actually cruises pretty damn well and quite smoothly. Just that the initial acceleration from standstill might feel slightly sluggish but once the speed has gone past 60 km/h, the speed climbs pretty effortlessly. For those who are light footed, the fuel economy can be pretty amazing. Definitely a vehicle NOT for spirited driving, considering the long-ish yet narrow-ish stance, cornering at high speeds is not advisable. If one does not nitpick, it is a good value for money compact suv to buy.

    Just drove my brother's car last week from Penang to KL.
    It's stable while cruising at 120km and fuel efficient compared to any other SUVs too. The only thing I'm not satisfied is steering is a little stiff, for elderly people getting into car (need to climb) and off course the 90's interior dash looks

    I feel that the sgcarmart team should judge this car more fairly and truthfully. True there isn't another 7 seater suv in its class for this price BUT that does not represents this as a good drive or a good car (not saying it is or isn't). Expectations are lowered not because its a perodua but because its coming in at such a price.
    Preferably it is always better to put another car in as comparison, usually its closest competitions but in this case maybe putting the Sienta would be a more closer choice.

    In Malaysia we have 2 spec x & Av.Av come with more technologies which is ASA 2.0[Advanced Safety Assist].

    • @iDanchubb
      @iDanchubb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      On the marketing point of view, I had hoped that Perodua could have brought a version with ASA which would greatly enhance its unique technological image for the current price bracket.
      They could have dropped the vehicle stability control (VSC) because layman folks here do not even know of its function, much less even of its existence.

    • @Raksasaification

      @@iDanchubb what do u mean? Vsc is compulsory in many country. Like Malaysia. Singapore distributors (eg. Honda) have the worst car safety features for high price point.

      @iDanchubb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Raksasaification Hence my point in the previous comment. Vehicle stability control is not mandatory for new cars in Singapore. From the marketing point of view, the ASA feature would offer a stronger selling point in Singapore.

    Hi Julian, this the second time I'm watching this same Perodua Aruz vedeo. I'm a Malaysian and have just placed my booking on a Perodua Aruz. Well, like everybody already knew, it's a not perfect car. It could be more smooth, and producing higher power & torque, if it runs on a CVT engine. You would regularly hear the sounds while running on the highway. But again, you got to compromise a bit looking a the money you paid for such a vehicle. In Singapore, for me, the price is slighly high considering the overall package as a whole, paying in SGD dollars. But back in Malaysia, selling below RM 80k, for a SUV, well, I cannot complain more.😅
