SA80 was a commercial term applied to the family of weapons by RSAF & Royal Ordnance, the correct title of the rifle is L85A2. They were upgraded by H&K not built by them. The L85A2 retains the original UK (99) NSN while oddly the Cadet General Purpose rifle L98A2 (semi automatic only) has had a German (12) NSN applied to it. Annoyingly the SA80 term has crept into official publications over the years with many coming to think it applied specifically to the rifle. The combat shotgun was removed from service at the conclusion of Op Herrick. Yes I am a nerd and scarily also an armourer. 😁

We were often told that one of the most dangerous weapons is a matelot with a gun! In my case, probably true. Great video Sam.
