Tasting blood ‘lahu muh lag gaya’ is also an idiom in Hindi which means that you are now addicted to something forbidden by its first taste.
Like the first time you had meat (as a vegetarian), you tasted blood, and now are addicted to it.
In this case yeah it’s Romeo Juliet adapted, and even though he knows she’s from a enemy clan, but has now tasted her and is addicted to her and wants her.

    • @thehawkseye3412

Ramleela, Devdas, Bajirav mastani, and padmavat... All these movies are Directed by Sanjay leela bhansali...the director known for larger than life films with huge and impressive sets, production design, costumes and every freaking detail... Specially music of his film is something to shout about.... He is definitely the best Director our india has...the way is uses colurs and light in his films is absolutely amazing ❤️❤️ and visually stunning. Recently his movie Gangubai kathiawadi's trailer was released and was appreciated and it look promising you should definitely check that out.

I'd say one of the best. We do have a lot of amazing directors in India (Mani Ratnam, Raju Hirani are a couple that popped in my mind). Having said that, the use of colours and lights in Bhansali films is stunning and dazzling.

    • @ActuallyAnanya
      @ActuallyAnanya 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

To say he's The best is pushing it. His films too often rely on opulence and visual splendour while forgoing deeper characterisation which makes the plots often feel shallow. I'd argue his best work so far has been Guzaarish, because it actually had to deal with more complex characters because the visuals had to be a bit more grounded.
In my opinion directors like Zoya Akhtar and Ashutosh Gowariker are much better than SLB. I personally think Vishal Bhardwaj is much better than SLB both as a director and a music director (my favourite SLB film soundtrack is for Hum Dil De Chukhe Sanam, with music from Ismail Darbar. Ram Leela is probably my favourite music direction from SLB). And your comment is very Bollywood-centric when there are several regional film directors that are better than SLB.

Unrelated to the music. The dance isn't just another beautiful piece of choreography, it is a folk dance from Gujarat, a state in West India. It's called Garba and it's hundreds of years old. It is a common way of celebrating festivals and occasions in Gujarat and not just Holi. However, the real flavour of Garba can be seen in Navratri, a 9-day long Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Shakti/Durga.
Another marvellous dance form from Gujarat is Dandiya which is also super popular. Every state in India has its own dance and music style very distinct from another. Most of them are folk dances (roughly distinct music patterns and dance steps and usually are quite easy if you're willing to learn, very forgiving too). Additionally, India has 8 classical dance forms (specific rules of music and steps actually explained in written, hard to learn, requires years of training, not very forgiving). Hope you get an idea!

I have to be honest I didn't expect such an ultra insightful, culturally empathetic and knowledgeable (especially in the music theory department) reaction. I'm genuinely impressed and just lined up a bunch of your videos in my tabs, and of course clicked subscribe.
I come from Germany, but have been living in India for almost 10 years now. It's my favorite place to be and I'm so grateful I was allowed to make it my home. But it is indeed VERY different from my own cultural temperament (which I appreciate. India made me more social, more family-oriented, more open to improvisation etc). I've seen that Latin people tend to have a lot easier time connecting to Indian culture. A lot of things are a bit similar, the way people are social and love as well as live music.
Do come to India some time if you get the chance. It's an amazing place with amazing people. And again, I'm very happy I found your channel! It's so rare you get reactions that make you feel you actually learned something while watching them!

Waleska you are spot on with the romeo juliet vibe , it is like that. They are from different clans, so their love is forbidden. The “villain” was actually her brother and he realises that the guy is from the other clan and sneaked in their to play holi with her. Thats why he starts telling the guys to gear up to most probably k/ill him if his friends hadn’t dragged him away😂 You should react to “Ang laga de re” from this move , its a gorgeous song and you’ll see how india normally manages the sexual part of the relationships tastefully but still conveying that passion! And during this , they both were in early stages of dating irl lol thats why the chemistry is through the roof.

That’s folk music of gujarat, played on Dhol ( Indian drum), and the form of song is called garba, ( most garba follows 1 tal/ 2 tal/ 3 tal tempo). And based on that beat people dance, the choreo is actually called garba, dance form mostly thousand years old. which we perform till the date every year in one festival called navratri.

    - Mehram by Grammy nominated Arooj Aftab and Asfar
    - Ye Dunya (it's a rock rap song Efra's gonna LOVE the drums and instruments)
    - Pasoori by Ali Sethi and Shae Gil. One of coke studio's finest output tbh

This is Garba music (folk music and dance of Gujarat). Nagade Sang Dhol from the same movie is another example of similar music, although more rhythmic and fast paced than this number.
