I might be wrong but Mikel isn't overly protective of his players anymore unlike before. I get the sense that he's saying that I have equipped you with all that you need to do the job, now go out there and get it done.
@HaytersTV I love the way he has gone about his business post-clearance, when he started working with relatively young players. He didn't just throw them in the deep end but provided them with that cushion even at times when they wilted under pressure he still stuck out for them. However, this time around I expect him to be a little more ruthless i.e. players being benched after indifferent performances, transfers of players we least expected to be and more public calls for them to reach the next level because no matter how much coaching goes into a team, it's ultimately the players that need to go out and do the business. For me he has managed that aspect quite well.
Whenever Odegaard is injured or needs rest, use Zinchenko and Nwaneri to fill up for him, not Trossard. Zinchenko can play 50-55 minutes and Nwaneri can continue for 30-35 minutes in the second half. The fact that Zinchenko and Nwaneri have superb technical and passing ability and can both play the number 10 role, this strategy will ensure 100% replica of Odegaard's technical and passing contributions for 90 minutes without a drop in quality of the team. You can also likewise use them both players same way if Saka is injured and they will give at least 95% if not 100% as well. I noticed when a key player gets injured, by the time we get ourselves back, the title race slips from us. Arteta should try to be more brave and do things differently sometimes.
Let’s get back to clean sheets again please, a 4-0 would be lovely for a change. If we don’t give away freebies near our goal or penalties & bookings, we may just cook them you know. Injuries are still a touch and go too 🤔
@jameswheaton2580 uhhhh...was a tongue in cheek comment based on the fact that Arteta avoids squad questions which is the purpose of the press conference using "another training session" as an excuse to not give definitive answers. Your suggestion that a meeting of journalists with managers being staged at a later date is therefore null and void, not funny but indeed sarcastic. Point taken.
This "particular interview" is the embargoed (delayed) section of the full interview which you are encouraged to also listen to as it always starts with no updates.
