    Well I have to admit this is looking pretty good actually.. I say that because I am a little skeptical of the .. umm .. less expensive? Rigs .. BUT .. Seems much more scale and more grounded. Shocks? a huge difference.. looks good.. :) and the canoe and extras always add to it;). So I guess my biggest question is. When going a little cheaper on an Rc as you have for this series, which I think is LONG overdue.. :) After getting the HB Toys rig where you are happy with it. I would be very interested in if at the end of the series. How much does this rig costs compared to getting a Brand name.. ie.. Trx, Scx10, Gmade (insert brand here) etc.. It it cheaper to go this way? or do you end up spending as much anyway on this one to get it to run better? Sorry I have been wondering this for a while.. Thanks for this series and I am really enjoying it

      Thanks allot I will do a break down at the end of the series of price versus performance I have had good luck doing budget building I aslo enjoy the big brands to but in my experience no matter what you buy in the world of crawling upgrades are always a must no brand gets everything right or maybe I just like working on them lol thanks allot for watching my friend I do appreciate your input

      one of these "RTR" are only about 120-130 bucks to start with, the A285004 shocks 11-13 bucks a set of 4 (can't go wrong and they'll fit WPL C-frame type stuff too). add some tires, do some tinkering, might cost as little as 150 bucks to have it be decent.

    The tires look like bfg style tread. Has a speedo and reciever mounting tray. The 4link and steering rods have metal ball ends molded in. Plus a 25t motor with heatsink. Opening and closing doors. It dose have a slipper clutch. There is some info for ya. Haven't built it yet. Lol.

    aha, you did go the A285004 shocks, about perfect for WPL type stuff, easy adjust spring collars, AND inexpensive too! (had a feeling they'd be "right" on those things) maybe worth experimenting, ditching some chassis weight in favor of wheel weight, then less pre-load to the shock springs... may flex as well (but not chassis) with the weight lower to not tip over as easy. can tell its *drastically* improved over stock already. I do like them a little nose heavy for climbing steep, whole vehicle weight dumps to the rear wheels anyway on an incline, where front weight lets the front pull uphill and keep steering.
    takes a while to arrive but 100 grams 2 mm solder from eBay is 4 bucks, MN-D90 here is two full wraps (16 turns) between the tire beads front pair (wider fayee 6 spoke rims+tires), stopped the back flipping when climbing. the 2S 18650 pack in the hood does sit a bit high, definitely thinking to carve away the tray to drop it in about 3/8" lower might help it.

    • @AdventureTimeRC
      @AdventureTimeRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There pretty good shocks I only fill them about a 1/4 of the way with oil just enough to slow down the recoil of the spring s but still move free for trail and rocks I do this with allot of my crawler shocks thanks for watching and commenting brother 😎😜😁😁👍🏻

    • @modelnutty6503
      @modelnutty6503 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MN-D90, filled them with automotive 10w40, they're pretty happy.
      waiting on 3 more sets, one for budget beast C14, the C24, and the C-framed NewBright Jeep. only one not getting is the C-framed B1 but yesterday morning fixed its CLACKING with sticky backed foam sheet... paper punched with hole through it for inside the shock body 2 layers, and pads on the body for the top/inside faces of the stock shock bodies. B1 being the "leftovers" from the C24 drift build, had to cut the springs shorter to drop ride height... when its riding on larger MN tires+rims? the C-frame is like a super lift kit compared to the straight rails and leaf springs of the B1 type, so frame swapping between the two was kinda "fun" to get both looking right.

    Very nice video, and the mods are to be added to my rig. Have been looking around for a more capable rig than my present HG-407, which is an excellent scaler trail rig, however not much of a crawler, mainly due to the leaf spring setup. I have changed it, so I have main leaf + the longer one in front and main+ the shorter in the back , to avoid torque deforming. Also made the Chino mod and improved the origal shocks (works well). Oppps! This tended to be a HG-407 inlay! My question is; where did you find those nice alu.sheets? Looks very realistic and also adds some stiffening to that rather soft area of the body. Are you planning to replace the servo and electronics? Will it manage a 3S with the correct eletronics?
