I am one of those people that do not play the game, just watch it since i am a huge fan of LOTR and all of its lore while also loving watching big battles. But! Your commentary is one of the best i've seen so far, because of the knowledge you have about the game and the passion you have for the game. Thats why i recommend following: 1.) Only make videos about games or other thing you are passionate about. If you dont like this game or other, dont make videos about it only because you think people will not watch something else. 2.) Try to focus on silmarillion now more, since it probably is more stable and it everyone who likes Third age will like that too. 3.) You can also try to switch up your recording software and other stuff if you feel like it, because Third age battles are just too good. 4.) The last point i have: Try to make videos about any other game you are currently enjoying. If it is a lets play, walktrough or just commentary, try doing it and see what is the response to it from your current viewers :) Now since you did a lot of favors for us with your videos let us return it by cheering you up a little :) You are good at what you do, considering its only a hobby right now and not a full time job. I really enjoy your commentaries. I started with PA but since I found your channel I don't watch PA anymore and only look at your videos because they are so mutch more professional. You have so mutch knowledge about the game and it's mechanics and also you have a pretty nice voice - no homo. :D So I am not only here for Third Age but for you. Sometimes your videos are also perfect for falling asleep (and not in a bad way :D). So please continue what makes you happy as long as it has to do with lord of the rings/tolkien. I would also love to see your replays from "Edain Mod 4.4.1" for Rise of the Witch King if you would like to do so. Keep up the good work. ;)

Umadcommander there were two units of nazgul I noticed them while you were watching the gwaith-i-mirdang’s last stand against the easterlings they even charged into the battle.
Been seeing people do that quite a bit recently, always funny that when you see a tactic being used once it seems to pop up everywhere. 2 Nazgul is a huge investment but its been paying off.
Slimirlion gaining attraction because it new and interesting with the lore of the first age. I do agreed that focusing on stability should be number 1 priority especially crash related. One other thing I can think of is upgrading the computer one every 4 years or get a new PC but that cost money which not everyone can afford.
Oh, don't be so harsh on yourself (or modest) :) I'm coming here to actually hear YOURS specific commentary, because I really love it. The other youtubers from the Reforge (except for Jmonster) are, at least for me "unwatchable". Don't give up if You can and i wish You good luck and a I hope You'll find a way to fix these problems :). If not, well there is at least Silmarillion.
Well Umad, since I've spent not a small amount of time watching your videos and grew accustomed to watching them, and in fact I like you enough to want to continue watching other videos you would upload to your channel, even though I didn't really like silmarilion videos that much yet, I can only recommend to try and upload some more of them and try to find some solution to those crashes you've been experiencing. If nothing works then maybe reforged team will simply have to downgrade (or remove certain features) reforged to some previous level.
Yeah it's not like naval warfare where the occasional over penetration is actually ok - you have holes in the ship but nothing exploded. Irl you'd probably die to blood loss.
Historically plenty of people survived after being hit by arrows or bolts. It's more of a Hollywood thing to see die immediately from arrow wounds or gun shots.
This is my biggest complaint playing. Even with low graphics you will still have crashes. Scouts makes a lot of cuts in his. I would definitely recommend the Warhammer patch
All the "shiny units" will eventually have models good enough that they break your game. Just look at the BOTET mod where you can barely do a simple siege battle with close to 4k units before your game crashes. You can either have something that's good to look at or something that is actually playable when it comes to Med2. BOTET and .97 have been some the most unstable mods I have played in my time. Can handle 30k troops on pc with most mods, but reforged will crash in a simple 2v2 if you don't have graphics on minuscule amounts and that's atrocious. Good luck Umad, I feel your pain. Would you be interested in commentating or playing later/other games? I find you to be a quite enjoyable person to watch.
@@umadcommander Medieval total war 2 is a single core(processor) game. It doesn't run as well on duel cores or more. It's only running 1 core at a time. See what your Ghz is and divide it by the number of cores you have and that's how well your computer is running the game. Ex. Like if you have a Quad core at 32Ghz your game will only run 1 core at 800Mhz. That's it.😉
I would suggest you do smaller scale battles, at this point Third Age Reforged has added so many new feature to the game specially the unique projectiles and also the detail on units. Especially on old game like Third Age might not be able to handle that much stuff. But if you really can’t do these replays maybe do live-streams of this game or start patron. That would probably generate you decent income and would keep your channel alive. But at the last part where you turned down graphic to absolute lowest, reminds me of when your videos had this “black line” popping on every so and then like a crashed tv, I think that was around 2016-17 correct me if I’m wrong. Ah memories 😩
umadcommander Then maybe do 1-2 hour long live stream you playing they game it would keep the game fresh and channel alive. Only suggesting this because as you stated in the video it takes you around 4-5 hours to do 1 video. This would give you more time. I think this can work for you.
What about doing field battles? Those have less assets (unless someone shitted the trees all over the place but you can always be more selective about the maps) and units are often spread across the whole battlefield so that might also help a bit. Nevertheless, I wish u luck.
Scouts posted it not to long ago. What scouts missed is me using the depleted unit of elks and I launched a pincer move with hidden units to attack the main chokepoint
Hello, I started watching your channel recently because of the Reforged content. But I understand the struggle you're having, I'd continue watching even if you did some Warhammer 2 or general Total War content. If I can offer a recommendation, I've noticed recently that others are getting into modded sieges for Warhammer Total War to add the depth previous games had for sieges. You could give that a try as it seems to be popular currently. Testing a video or two would give you the answer and help you decide your next step no matter the outcome. If necessary, if it works out the break between Reforged stuff (if you continue) might help make the slog a little easier allowing that content to still be available on your channel. Whatever you decide, thank you for the effort you have put in.

I just watched another big one today (Grey Havens) rangers a plenty no issues up close watching blood splatters in blobs at choke points go take a look see. Why is it not crashing on him....................the graphics looked pretty good too.

To be fair to the defenders, the dragons breath is broken as hell and in it's current state shouldn't be in the game. It's really just a case of "click-delete" and when you can do that to half of an elven king's palace guard.
And while we're at it, I think you can try commenting on some other games (yeah, I know you've tried it before and it somewhat failed, at least if we're talking about views), but some that are more similar like other third age mods at least once in a while... but it needs to be something at least broadly similar, because that's the only way most people here are gonna enjoy it. Even though I may try and watch you do commentary on any game for as long as this game is not really stupid or boring for me. Wish you best luck either way.

Well, pelargir is a shit map, to many assets, but it is true that reforged is crashing a lot, and I think I can point out what it causes these crashes. The adding of the campaign to reforged stressed the engine to its max and beyond. It's a problem that needs fixing, but the only solution I see would be to remove the campaign and maybe take back some updates that stress the game like lothloriens splitshot wich is A HUGE PAIN to the engine, the overuse of BP is also a problem for obvious reasons. But that's also what makes reforged be reforged, the strange and unusual stuff that keeps people interested into a 15 year old game. My point is that, a mod as heavy like reforged cannot whit the engine that we have available have a campaign and a good Multi-player, there is only so much the engine can do and so much that it can handle but it's not fair either to ask the developer team to make choice.
its not an issue if its just people like me that get these issues but if it gets worse and spreads to people playing normally then choices will have to be made sooner or later
I personally don't see a reason for campaign, that's probably because I don't play them though :p Multiplayer is what reforged is best at, that should be the sole focus imo

I think reforge is too ambitious in its attempts to make the M2TW engine "modern". There has to be acknowledgement that the engine itself is pretty damn good if people continue to make mods and watch mods of mods of mods...15 years after release of the engine. The 3d models, animations, and battle mechanics are very good...even in comparison to CAs new releases. Warhammer has magic but it also has an messy ui, no AA, really poor unit interaction and mass mechanics. Reforge needs to take a step back and clean up its "tech" in game. Remove the weird crap and focus on unit quality...balance the factions to look different but only use mechanics that are proven to work. The mass, elevation, charge, ap mechanics are good enough to create a challenging experience for players without BP, Fire, Area of effects and weird ass maps that use terrain as walls...etc. The moment I saw their initial releases I knew this would happen because they are attempting to compete with new releases of WH instead of understanding that there is a charm to the M2TW engine that should be built upon.

even a toaster could run med2 on lowest settings and here it still crashed, there is no issue with my hardwarei can promise that

itd probably be quite hard to take away some of the things added without mking the game feel worse , fairly complicated problem

Have you tried the war hammer patch that will stabalize the game? It worked for me.
its helped in somes ways but not for the kind of crashing this one had, im just gonna have to avoid this kind of map moving forwards tbh

people prefer the bigger stuff tho, 1v1's on a plain map would get old super fast, the fancier maps are part of what keeps the game fresh

Shit like Dragons breath also fucks the game. I love the developers of this mod, but it is entirely too bloated.
