I second the comment here. Mike, you are an amazing human being! Not only changing snd teaching people how to come by their food, but lifting spirits, creating hope for more rewarding expenditures of money and especially TIME! I mean, what do we do all day, especially retirees. Watch TV, mindlessly cruise the internet feeds which are largely useless fear porn or worse, political porn which most of us are simply tuning out, stories of the coming war, coming plandemic, and on and on. Your vids give one purpose, sustenance for body and mind. Your mission on Planet Earth has never been needed more. THANK YOU! ❤️❤️❤️
Epic! This proves that where there's a will, there's a way. Virtually any container will work as long as you fill it with equal parts solution and air, then add a bit of light. The rest is simply a matter of time and imagination. Cheers from N. FL.! (got up to 80F today after being down in the 20sF for the last couple weeks. Spring may finally be on the way! )
I appreciate you sharing your experience, Mike. You got me started on hydroponics a few weeks ago, and I have to say I am really enjoying the ride. I'm making a few mistakes but learning what not to do, and having some success. Hopefully I can graduate to peppers and tomatoes by spring.
I think the soup pots will do ok for the first planting but may get a bit squishy after that. I'm ok with growing in plastic, but I look forward to your results as always. Cheers!
Started my indoor growing last month and thought I’d check your channel again. I think I got another honorable mention in this video as maybe the one who suggested broccoli raab. If it wasn’t me, I’m still honored to have supported any other who also used it. For me it was serendipitous because I was already growing sprouts in my kitchen and I had a few kilos of organic seeds for that purpose when I came across your channel and didn’t want to wait for the Pak Choi so I began with the rapini. It was a lucky find for me because I had little experience growing before and none with hydroponics. Yes the rapini grows tall quickly indoors but I moved it outdoors last year quickly. And now this month, I’m harvesting the tall leaves as they get close to the lights and adding them to my breakfast eggs. Now with a rather successful season under my belt and an earlier start I’m looking forward to a larger harvest and variety from last year. Already have rapini, arugula, red lettuce and Pak Choi going and no shortage of seeds I saved from meals from last year. I just need room because in New York winter won’t be over for at least another month. And while it feels like spring already we can get snow into April. Thanks for all you do Mike. You’re still inspiring.
Thanks, that was a great suggestion. I'm glad you can be so productive even through the Winter, that's awesome! Keep up the great work and here's to a bountiful Spring.
I enjoy learning from you. You get the wheels turning in my head. Love the soup cup idea. Wondered about bamboo. Have you ever used bamboo? Have a great day!
I love this video! You gave me so many new ideas and different ways to do do. Today I'm going to start some new adventures myself. I grow microgreens but now I'm going to experiment with more! Thank you! And by the way you are awsome! I've learned how to kratky from you.
It will be cool to see how long they can actually be grown out that way, or also, what would happen if you thinned them out to 1-2 plants per container
For newbies like me, do you have a video that shows from the very start of growing micro greens to moving them to other containers. I just bought the mason jar adapter from you and got buckets to create a vertical tower since I live in a condo with just a small balcony. Love your creativity and how thrifty you are. I shop at thrift stores as well and love saving money any way I can. I did buy the mason jar adapters to see if this can be more hands off. I have been growing sprouts for months.
Hi … I am looking for micro green trays as a newbie and liked your grow in glass episode. Can I ask where you bought the small glass bowls … it looks like you use plastic soft drink to cover. I like the idea of trimming a bowl that is easy to pick up vs a large tray.
its winter here and i still have fungus gnats in my home, is there anyway to rid them as they attracted to my microgreens? i have radish/red cabbage/cress/beetroot microgreens
If those are supposed to be waterproof, I would be concerned with PFAS or plastic impregnated. If the waterproofing is from wax impregnation, I guess that would be safe.
I grew watercress in a 12x8 tray outside last summer. It took a while to establish but then once it did it really took off. That’s some super nutrient dense stuff!
Enjoy Your Videos.
And the Wonderful Journey of Possibility Are Endless.
Thank You, For what You have Done and Are Doing.
Creatives ARE ENDLESS.
I love this video with all the chapters. Thanks Mike!
Have had years of feeling 'meh' until I found your channel.
Appreciate these videos more than words can express, thank you so much for being you. 🙏🏻🌱
Thank you very much! I am glad you enjoy it. Have an awesome day!

Thank you! Bamboo is on the list!
I was thinking the same…I also found palm leaf bowls and coconut bowls on Amazon!
The purple radish micro greens are beautiful❣️
You have such a good heart❣️ Keep on growin and keep on teaching, your making an impact🙏🏼
thats all fantastic. Thanks for all of it, good suggestions and well said

Legend! Love your creativity
Thank you!
gotta love your honesty.
It will be cool to see how long they can actually be grown out that way, or also, what would happen if you thinned them out to 1-2 plants per container
If I thinned them out, it would be like when I transplant them into bigger Kratky containers.
I love the eyeballs!!
Nice touch👍
I learn so much from your channel- thank you for helping me feed myself!
Thank you too!
Great video! I just got some hydroton and some arugula seeds in the mail today. Can’t wait to get started
I definitely recommend that broccolini for most bang for your buck, as well as Seaside Spinach. 30-40 day harvests
Something I’m going to do after a year of experimenting, is I’m trying to grow the most nutritious foods. Seems to be the way to go
Thanks Mike.
Thanks Mike!
I appreciate the info and inspiration

Maybe you could paint the insides of cardboard boxes with wax, or used waxed paper to cover large areas and paint the edges down with melted wax?
That's a good thought!
Thank you, I'm a new subscriber and really enjoying your channel. Can I ask the measurements for the nutrients?

Mike….black 100% cotton socks…
You’ll figure it out 😘
Growing cress is tricky with all the comments I have been reading. What is your experience with cress?
It takes a while but then once it gets hold, it lasts a long time and con be constantly harvested like cut and come again crops.
I grew watercress in a 12x8 tray outside last summer. It took a while to establish but then once it did it really took off. That’s some super nutrient dense stuff!
So why did u stop your original method of growing?
Look back at my last video.
