I taped this show on DAT and burned it to disk. Lost the disk sometime in the last 20 years. Masters are all ruined, magnetic interference I think. Thank god for digital Phish.
I was at these shows and it was awesome !! Showed up in a shirt and shorts unprepared for the cold nights. I ended up buying a Phish / Gorge fleece from the gift shop and some awesome patchwork corduroy pants from an awesome lady on the lot. She let me try them on in their school bus, if that was you, Thanks sister !! Saved my ass, literally. I still have the cords, ex girlfriend took the fleece, lol.
I have never missed a Gorge show, ever and these shows are where I promised myself that whatever I was doing, or where ever I was in the world at the time I would never miss a single night under the GORGEous Washington sunshine on the banks of the mighty Columbia River. I have never broken that promise to myself and not once have I ever been disappointed with a show at that stunning and totally unique venue with this equally unique and truly magical band of musical wizards. This was back before the trail when you had to walk all the way down the road to get in the venue. There was no Premier Camping or shuttle busses. Most importantly and at the time I thought it was the LSD but Nope! They actually used to have a stand that only sold Dick's milkshakes. If you have never been to Seattle Dick's is a staple of late night burgers but their true master piece is the milkshakes. Finding that stand on that boiling hot mid July day, with the boys on stage killing it, I thought to myself "I must have died. This is heaven on earth."
So stoked they released boards of this show. I remember being up top by the picnic tables for this set, was a beautiful summer day with tons of room to groove. Went down near the front for that epic second set. Best 2001 ever.
My first PH show was 10/22/95 University of Illinois, Champaign IL. It was the most incredible thing I'd experienced at that point and I had been seeing GD since 3/9/93. You played this - keywords Woke up in the morning...dank.l. Go give that show a listen and you'll regret releasing 10/21/95 as an LP release instead. Still my favorite Slave ever.

My first show! Who was yelling "Ice Cold beverages! I got your ice cold beverages!" all night? My friend and I slept in our Honda after the show and a long ride from Eugene, OR. I didn't know what Phish was but I just went. Such a great show. Then my next show was in like 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Been doing it yearly ever since! I was way too much into Slayer back then.
Oh was this when Fishman got busted at the border before the show ?? Or was that 9/9/99 Vancouver 🤔 think maybe Vancouver or a Seattle show , cause i remember he said something about " woke up this morning , border patrol " or something... i miss all my old maxwell II !!!

THESE are the stories of these songs and that's what people will never get and that's kinda amazing and shitty lol

Fantastic shows , the Gorge shows 97 and 98 , 99 , seen all them . Such great times out there . And those divided sky sunsets 🥰🤩💯
Also the tour of that heady brown sass
I could hear makisupa at every show and love every second of it.
Check out makisupa from deer creek 2021. Actually listen to the whole second Sunday set. I was there and it was so much fun.
95-98 What a special special time in the Universe for sure!
So glad looking back that was the only time I saw them
In m opinion the pinnacle of phish. Agreed.
I could've listened to that Makisupa jam for hours...!

98’ soundboards are so crispy. Never heard one that is subpar.
It's not necessarily the year, it's because it's a multitrack release

Man, the organ just does it for me.
I've decided to buy an organ tonight after hearing this 15 times in a row
Thanks

Such great shows and great vibe in the campground. Tortilla wars! 9/11/99 was a smoker, hope they release the boards for that someday too

Many do. Also, many collectors out there enjoy physical media. Can’t collect an MP3. 😂
