    ⚠️ Train Harder, Not Smarter.
    🇬🇧 Documenting my life ‘on the run’ in Japan!
    When you think of Japanese marathon running there’s probably one name that comes to mind… the legend, Yuki Kawauchi. Known as the ‘citizen runner’, since while working full time for the government, without any brand sponsorship, he pulled off one of the greatest upsets in running history by winning the Boston Marathon and shocking the world. I’ve always been inspired by his underdog story and his unorthodox training methods, which include racing a marathon nearly every month! But in this video, my idol will turn rival as we battle it out on the race course ⚔️

      Jheeez you hero, that’s very kind! Pretty sure my monthly shoe expenditure isn’t far off what I’m paying for rent, so this is very much appreciated 😂🙌

      Japanese is gramatically very easy and consists of very easy sounds to pronounce. People quickly learn to speak japanese because of that. The part that makes this language one of the most difficult to learn is writing and reading. :) If japanese had latin alphabet it would be one of the easiest languages to learn. But it's still impressive how he has courage to continue conversations in foreign language even when he does not understand and that he mimics japanese tone of speaking quite well too.

      @@RanToJapanman, I know that feeling!
      But if you’re able to vibe the conversation and respond naturally it means you’ve got that subconscious understanding down at least a bit. Doing great so far mate! Couple more years and you won’t even have to think about what language you’re speaking!

    Yuki Kawauchi's approach to running is so similar to Jake's. He may be coming back from injury now, but for many years he raced marathons about ever 2 weeks or so, whereas most elite marathoners race 2-3 races a year. Mr. Kawauchi totally gets it: train harder, not smarter! Jake, congrats on this shining moment, mate. Dream-come-true stuff.

    • @In_aw3
      @In_aw3 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@RanToJapanlove that you’re not willing to do that unless you can give something worthwhile in return! Here’s a possible idea: why not do extra “run with me” videos? Maybe it’s raw or lightly edited footage of your training runs, and it could be a conversational “these are tips I know/here’s what life is like/I really like watching these movies” or maybe you ask some of your friends to run with you and it’s just a genuine run with some light conversation between you two? It’d be something for the viewers to see a bit more into what your training is like and would create a more personal connection for your members
      Just a thought though! Obviously, you have the final say in what content you make, and I’m loving everything you’re pumping out!
