      @@dangerouskills1060 for real, that's some serious cope going on. I understand people doubting O'Malley and Strickland before they won the belt, even saying they didn't deserve the title shot, but after they won, it's time to man up and admit you were wrong. I was wrong, I thought O'Malley had potential but wasn't ready yet, I thought Strickland was really good, but not good enough to beat Izzy. I was wrong on both counts. I've never understood the fake manly men that think never admitting you're wrong and doubling down like a toddler throwing a tantrum is what it means to be a man. Being a man means manning up to your mistakes.

      I say the same thing to spice it up, but in fairness no one thought he was gonna win that fight even after the first round. A better way to say it is "everyone expected Leon to lose all 24 of those minutes." not that he was being beat all 24 minutes. It sounds better in my head lol

    • @AlexYoung1995
      @AlexYoung1995 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I will still stand on the hill that if they fought the 1st title fight not at altitude which gave Usman a huge advantage as he trains in Denver, Leon would've won a lot more comfortably

      @stuffbyaaron1811 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @Hawkeye83627 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stuffbyaaron1811 I know that that isn't correct, but I'd say "Exaggerated". Rewritten makes it sound like it was the complete opposite, when it wasn't really that. Yes Leon won round 1 and he had good moments, but having 'good moments' when you're set to lose a bout 4 rounds to 1 is still a big loss.

The best way to defeat the stupid narrative that " you have to definitively beat the champ to be the champ" is to strip when there is a draw and have an automatic rematch. Thats what the champ is doing anyway, when someone challenges they're supposed to put their belt up on the line. Make them earn it back, all belts and defenses should be earned.

    Leon v Usman 3 was more telling of Usman than Leon. Not counting Leon's obvious fence grab, Usman looked much slower. While folks say he was gun shy he blocked the same leg kick that Leon KO'd him with. The years of wrestling and hard grinding has finally caught up with him. Even if Leon starches Colby-who is arguably a year away from slowing like Usman-he needs to beat someone like Shavkat to cement his WW legacy.

    • @95shagginwagon67
      @95shagginwagon67 ปีที่แล้ว

      I respect your take on this, and can even see where you’re coming from.
      Personally, I disagree with the sentiment for a few reasons:
      1. Leon’s win streak before Usman/Edwards 2 was enough to define his legacy (similar to Tony Ferguson)
      2. He was clearly a different fighter in the second round @salt lake city, given the elevation change.
      3. Usman did slow down in the third fight, but that slow down was caused by Edwards. That KO was beyond anything that is fully recoverable from. Anytime somebody gets KO’d into a fencing pose, that’s probably lifelong damage (even if it is imperceptible to the athlete).
      4. Nate Diaz kinda saved Edwards career. The biggest barrier to stardom/legacy for Edwards was Masvidal skyrocketing fame off his back. After his loss, Nate kinda influenced fans to support Leon by endorsing him and showing him nothing but respect.

    Aljo pretty much had a free ride, He lost the second fight to Yan that was a bad decision. TJ was injured and shouldn't have been in the cage. And Henry was coming back from retirement. He was dealt with easily by Sean
