Where to find gold in a river. Trip from Fresno to Briceburg, Mariposa. Recent flooding 2 show gold.

- Best time to see where gold will deposit in a river is after a huge storm. California flooding filled all of the rivers and creeks in Coarsegold, Oakhurst and Mariposa. A huge shout out to Caltrans, first responders and tow truck operators who worked so hard for all of us after we were flooded.

Oh yes! You know your stuff! Greenstone belts are amazing. I find it interesting that just about every greenstone belt around the World is rich with gold! The only issue is trying to break greenstone. Since it went through the meta volcanic process, it’s really hard. We have learned the old technique of Fire and Water to crack it. @@MinerMaGold no a friend wrote the story then after he passed away another friend had it digitized and printed but only about a few hundred copys were made and not given out publicly these were among a group of friends from Treasure Hunter board.
I had no idea the briceburg campgrounds are under claim. Does that mean no panning for gold just for fun?
So Briceburg was changed to a wild and scenic river. No more claims can be placed on it. However, there were claims on it in the early days. Those claims still stand. You may see a big white pole in the ground that has a claim name on it. There are also claim markers in the trees near one campground, (Willow placer I think) I seem to remember what is called "corner pocket" was not under claim, but would recommend checking before panning. I will do a bit of research on it today to see if I can help with this.
Ok I did a quick check and there are still claims. Mimi#7 (section 5 sw) and Bigfoot #1 and #2. (section 6 ne,se). I think Mc Cabe Flat is free to camp and pan. (This is what the river guides call corner pocket area, because the river looks like a pocket on a map. ) To me it seems that anything past corner pocket going downstream is under the above mentioned claims. Again, I would double check my work. The closer you are to the bridge the better. May the AU be with YOU!-
