MacMillan is great. I saw his percussion concerto no.2 live and it was one of the best performances i've seen. Definitely one of my favorite contemporary composers.
I sang this in a chamber choir, Southern Voices, in Winchester many years ago. Was a wonderful challenge and I think we did pretty well!! I still love it.

Not very friendly to the voices: a voice is no percussive instrument, yet is used as such over large stretches.
This is a great recording! I’ve loved this work for years but never heard it performed this well.
Can't really actuvely listen to the full thing rn but the first minute of this is absolutely captivating.
