    This is so amazing! I was wondering what wood you used for it. They look really nice.

      I think it’s maple and mahogany , and the top is spruce. More or less :)

    That was an awesome video, great job. I was curious though, did you glue the bridge in place, or is it being held in place like a violin bridge?

    • @yojik_creates_stuff
      @yojik_creates_stuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yep, I glued it, i thought maybe to not do that, but then decided it will be best if it stays in place.

      Nope :) one of a kind ! If you want to see it action, although very short, look for Alina Gingertail , her most recent video

    How did you learn to make lyres? (or other instruments in general) Are you a carpenter or is a hobby of yours? This video really inspired me :)

    • @yojik_creates_stuff
      @yojik_creates_stuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      it's a hobby of mine. you just make...and learn on the way :) not sure that's the right way, but it's all i have :) it's hard to find someone to learn from where i live.

    Hello. This work is wonderful. It is very beautiful. Is it possible to share the map of this harp with me?

    • @yojik_creates_stuff
      @yojik_creates_stuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks! you mean the plan? unfortunately I don't have it anymore. I think it was not optimal, too big. next time I build a lyre, it will be a bit smaller :)

    • @mahmoodgharibi
      @mahmoodgharibi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yojik_creates_stuffYes, I meant the plan😅. it's true! It looks a bit big to me too, but it's very pretty and eye-catching. I spent the whole day trying to design a design similar to your work (in smaller dimensions) with the software, but unfortunately I was not successful. I think I don't have much talent in designing with software🙃. Anyway, I would be very happy if you could share with me any design you have.

    Hi! do you maybe have the plans or measurements for the lyre somwhere avaliable?

    • @yojik_creates_stuff
      @yojik_creates_stuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      not really....it was done more by heart than by plans :)

    Where'd you get that big knife you used at around 6m10s? Looks hand made also.

    • @yojik_creates_stuff
      @yojik_creates_stuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a German chef knife, I just remade it’s handle. Have a video on that , if you are curious check it in my videos 😇

      @christopherworth1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yojik_creates_stuff I make knives and handles also and realized there are some great blades that only need a new grip. You did very well with that one. And ..really appreciate the video. Answered a lot of questions for my first lyre. Thanks.

    Heh. How is it a fantasy lyre if it's real?
    :P
    (This is more of a critique of the word "fantasy" to describe a genre that compartmentalizes the human desire for beauty, meaning, symbolism, myth, and connectedness).
