Late summer 1982, alone at the family cottage north of Montreal and this song on CHOM one night. That moment is still with me and that middle break where mother tucks her in still haunts me.
Sigh. Dbs always a better idea of a band than an actual band. Face it, the songs are mediocre. This isn't Big Star where the songs were awe inspiring but the timing of the band's emergence so tragically bad that even though they were destined to fail at first, the sheer stellar quality of the songwriting insured that eventually the music would be rediscovered and the band appreciated at the level it deserved. With the Dbs there is only pleasantly C+ to good forgettable stuff and while those who may have fond memories of a show thirty years ago still support the band the reality is that these guys are 60+year old grandpas now still singing about teenage love. It's way past time to move on guys, y'all didn't make money doing this the first time around, coming back to pop music bald and dressed in your dad jeans isn't the answer. It's just kind of sad. Gene Holder the "youngster" turns 60 this coming July. Happy Birthday Gene. Your production chops are outstanding...back to the studio, Bro. Be well.
One of Chris' very best-ever songs -- something that was out there waiting to be written, and he grabbed it.
Man, I love the dbs!

Ha ha ha He disses them for being old. Alex Chilton and Chris Bell are both __dead__.
Figure that.
Idiot! (Ding!)
Fantastic band, it's the chops that are a bit rusty (but fine)
Get over yourself WHITE BOY!!!
@@danwroy I strongly disagree. I have seen Peter play twice this year. I have seen him many, many times. No problems with his playing at all.
Are you still the same sad little man you were when you wrote this nonsense ten years ago?
