Wow, your piano interpretation of this melody is really great !! For me this tune has a very special meaning personally and brings back memories of Christmas 1996. Thank You.
This is friggin' fantastic and deserves so much more attention than it's received! I'd always thought of this song as difficult to arrange for a single instrument, but I think that you nailed its mood and energy (never mind your excellent technique). Great work!
Absolutely love this version - rich in those meaty chords and the eerie Metroid mystery! Love it! Getting a little Chrono / Final Fantasy feel in this too!
the moment at 1:44 is such an important part of the song (its climax in my opinion) that everything is just building to and you handled it with care and grace.
Yay more Super Metroid! This is one of my favorites from the game. I wouldn't have thought it would make for a good piano cover but you did an excellent job with it!
This is amazing! Such a stunning arrangement and performed magnificently (also side-note, 100% get the getting stuck in the same spot feeling with Super Metroid! No matter how many times I play it I can NEVER manage to memorise the map and always enivitably end up getting lost, haha). Would totally love to hear some more Super Metroid tracks in the future ^_^
Thanks so much!! Super Metroid is my favorite Metroid soundtrack for sure. Yeah I love that some of these old games don’t hold your hand the whole way!
This is the most accurate piano rendition of Brinstar I’ve heard on TH-cam! You honestly should have WAY more views and more subscribers. Well, you got a new one from me anyhoo lol 💪🏿
Haha I sometimes struggle too with the names of these songs cause there's multiple titles online usually so I'm like ' Which one is the right one!?' Anyway I love Super Metroid so much. The boss from this area gave me the creeps on the first playthrough haha. You did an amazing job on this as always! Almost sounds like it could be part of a movie soundtrack or something. Also you're almost to 300 subs! You deserve it fully :)
@2:39 is this a contra melody from Metroid Prime? Followed by a melody that is reminiscent to both Super Metroid and Friday The 13th on NES (Hadn’t noticed the similarity until now (thank you!)) and then followed by the ending arpeggios from Battle of Olympus. This is a really impressive composition IMO.
"or whatever it's called" haha game soundtrack titles can be confusing can't they? Especially older ones. Don't even get me started on the Chrono Cross soundtrack. At least some songs like "Scars of Time" are also "Time's Scar", but "Dragon Knight" is also "The Dragoons". wtf?! lol This was really cool! I like those chords you added towards the end. The melody really lends itself to playing over any chord in the key pretty much. Not one of my favourite songs from the game, since I tend to favour the more moody ones, but I understand why this song is pretty popular to cover. Also my next cover happens to be a Super Metroid one as well! :O Unfortunately I started pretty slowly on it so it's still gonna be a few days before it's out.
Chrono Cross is the worst with that, haha! (I love that OST, though) I'm glad you like the chords I added! I love Metroid music but sometimes it needs embellishing to work as a cover; on one hand Prime's is super atmospheric and on the other is Metroid II SR388 which has a great tune but is only 2 chords! You seem to be really good at fleshing out/developing musical ideas in your covers, though, so I expect I'll like your Super Metroid video!
@@AnimalisaKeys That was more or less my thought process with my cover I'm doing, I wanted to expand on the song in interesting ways and see if the melody works over different chords. You'll see what I mean when it's out haha. And aw thank you! 😊 That means a lot to hear that!
cool. Do you write your own pieces as well. You likely do yourself a disservice if you don't I would say and in fairness it's a much more satisfying achievement than to play others work
@@AnimalisaKeys you're better than I ever was when learning how to play other's work. Game music by it's nature is I think a very good starting point to understanding melody structure and movement. Probably the best I would say. I started similarly in around 1987 but rather less accomplished than yourself and then a year or so later had started attempting my own work. It might be a more natural step though for you although composition is a quite different requirement for sure. But very worth it if you can. In my case I chose not to persue the art of music in the sense of how it's traditionally taught and rather by what I could make of things as I listened and played. That may have helped or not. As it is now though I'm well positioned far more than I thought possible and writing well beyond what my orginal dreams were. A journey well worth persuing as there's no greater feeling than to write a great piece of music. The idea that you're basically walking the same road as these music greats is quite unmatched You're already well versed in focus to your playing and so it's clear you take it seriously. The biggest thing of all to composing I have found like anything in fact where you wish to succeed, is there must always be a burning desire to succeed. A passion so strong that it simply never wanes. Failures must be met with a never diminishing desire to reach the bar you've set which for quite some time will seems so out of reach you despair. You can do anything you want to in this respect so long as you truly want it to happen In the words of Peppy, never give up
I played this for my friend that loves metroid and it made him pretty happy. Nice!
Sweet! I'm glad :D

Ok... That's an incredible arrangement.
Its just so good.
Congrats
Thank you very much!

Thank you so much!!! You're right...Metroid music doesn't always lend itself well to just a piano, so I'm glad I found a way to make it work :D
Best ost! Best musician! Wonderful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
I always like these Metroid covers
Sweet! I could always do a jazzed up version of Zanarkand instead, though ...
@@AnimalisaKeys More jazz is never a bad idea

I'm truly amazed. I had no idea this could sound _so_ good on a piano.
Great job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Me either, it was really tricky to make it work! Glad you liked it :)
wow. every liberty you took paid off very well and i loved each second of this. great job!

Thank you so much!! This was both difficult and really fun to arrange, but it's my favorite track from Super Metroid so I had to!
I wish more people with your talent had your taste in music and composition.
I have honestly never had more fun in my life! Hopefully more and more musicians keep joining the vgm community
Well done, loved the whole arrangement!
Thank you :D
perfect exectucion, super missle locked an loaded.
Favorite track from my favorite game of all time. Sounds great!
Thank you! It's one of my favorites from super Metroid, too...I might even like it better than red soil ;)
love it

I was determined to make it work, haha! Thanks!!
Great job! I really enjoyed hearing this arrangement!
Thanks, B-rad!

Thank you, and welcome :)

Woohoo! Thanks!! Metroid songs are especially difficult to arrange accurately for piano so that means a lot XD
No ? I mean it's good, but it's absolutely not accurate. It's not the atmosphere you feel. I'm not saying it's bad, just that it's not accurate
Amazing Job!! I love this song
Thank you!! :)
Beautiful rendition! Keep up the great work! Love this song
Thank you! Ahhh me too it's such a good tune!!
@@AnimalisaKeys it really is! Then again, a lot of good tunes are packed into Super Metroid x) ..... but this ones definitely in the top!
I was playing the game in my mind while listening to this
Haha, perfect!
Great job, my friend!! Keep it up!
Thanks :)
This one is really neat. I'll be looking for a Red Brinstar in the future :)
Thanks! I do like me some Red Brinstar
muito bom, essa interpretação esta linda, Brasil te da parabens
Muito obrigado!

Wow. The dynamics, the inner voicings, the green dress - you got it all. Do you arrange all the music yourself by ear? Keep playing awesome music!
Thank you so much! I did arrange this one myself. Super Metroid is one of my favorite games!
Excellent! :)
Thank you!
Very nice ^^ i'd like to hear an interpretation of Kraid's Lair :)
Keep it up ;)

No but I'll probably get around to most of the Super Metroid tracks eventually; I like them so much!
