Hands down one of my all time favorite channels. Wish there would be more older/used cars that are in a more realistic price range 😅 But this B&W system is on another level, love it!
I got the S60 2021, with B&W. The sound quality is absolutely amazing. All my friends are blown away. I think it's even better than the Burmester sound system in Mercedes, but in the C-class, not E or S class
We all know how good the Bowers & Wilkins system is in Volvos. What is interesting is, this system has over 1000W of power, the i4 has like 400w. The fact that they both sound so good goes to show that great calibration and tuning is more important than just sheer power. In this case, Volvos got em both!
Great review. I'm also really impressed by how quiet the V60 is in this clip when you're not playing music. What a great place to spend time and really enjoy the music!
I recently received my 2023 S60 with the B&W system and it has virtually no bass, brought it back to service and they advised everything is working as intended. Currently fighting with Volvo North America
Hi, have you tried playing music directly from the built-in Spotify app? In my V90 Cross Country -18 there is a big difference if you compare with android auto. Better quality and you can play much louder if you share internet to the car and stream from the built-in app.
I’ve been using the built-in Spotify app in my 2022 XC60 with B&W and you can select music quality in the app and for me it’s always on “very high quality”. Compared with Apple CarPlay (I downloaded the same song on Apple Music in High Res Lossless), I found streaming straight from the car gives you a smidge more details. With four-year unlimited data, it’s a no-brainer not to use the built-in app. I also listened to Spotify in a loaner car with H&K and it was just disappointing. The human voice and instruments are mushed together when you turn the volume up, not as crispy as B&W.
I just ordered a new v60. I really wanted the b&w system but the salesman actually talked me off it, saying it wouldn't be worth it if you're not listening to classical or jazz a lot. Apparently the standard HK is better for pop music due to stronger bass, and coming from a person who listens to the radio news mist trips, I agreed...
I’ve been in a V60 with a HK system for almost year now and it’s a very good sounding system! However, the sales person claiming that it would somehow be better for pop doesn’t add up. The subwoofer driver is actually identical in both systems, but the B&W gets a way better amp.
@@DailyMotorSound it was his honesty I believe. There was a fully loaded v60 sitting right outside his cubicle and he showed it to me and we also tested his s60 r design with the hk. He asked me what type of music I listen to and if I listened to classical or jazz a lot. I said I don't and also I listen to general radio/news a lot and he said don't bother spending that extra $4k. I guess to an audiophile with lossless music files it would be a big deal but for most people who just listen to normal music and lossy mp3 files the different is pretty minimal. There's an element of bling factor in this system that honestly only audiophiles can fully appreciate. For most including myself it's just the visual eye candy In the end I had the option to pick up that v60 sitting beside me or order a new one with either system. I chose the latter.
Funny, the salesman tried the same with me... To talk me out of it. I had him show me the 3 different systems and the B&W was still the best and made a huge difference for me. I listen to a variety of music.
Great review Charlie! Thank you very much! Very strange you could not use your USB. Did you contact the Bowers and Wilkins engineers about this? Seems to me very essential using such a perfect system. Or was it a Volvo V60 thing?
Genuine question (from the UK) we've got a new law about phones when driving and in traffic think if caught its a £1000 or something, is there a similar in the states or is it a state by state thing? Oh and love the b&w in Volvos!!
Nah, it's state by state. Many states have a "no texting and driving" law, but who's to say what that really entails. Am I more distracted by switching songs on my phone than someone who's applying makeup or feeding their kids? Debatable.
@@Money_crypto Cadillac Escalade, Volvo XC90, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, BMW i4, Mercedes S-class are top four that I've heard. I'm sure there are some better that I've yet to test.
@@DailyMotorSound oho! I was very surprised to see the BMW i4 audio system on this list. Is it Harmann Cardon? And another question: the Volvo V60 and XC90 audio systems are very different?
its always the volvos that sound the best

Yes, finally a 2023 V60 video on TH-cam 😂. Been waiting 7 months for mine
Congratulations on 1k subs! Volvo does indeed make great products!
Thank you! And yes they do
I've only heard the B&W at auto shows but they've always blown me away. They're top tier, up there with Mark Levinson and Lexicon.
Yea I went to a Volvo dealership today and went in a v60 with a B&W sound system and it sounded so good
Volvo's Bowers & Wilkins system is the best. I almost teared up when I listened to it for the first time
Wow that sound system is amazing
Congratulations on hitting 1k subs. I need to hear one of these great systems.
Can you please test the v60 with the normal 10 speaker soundsystem?
8:29 perfect shot

Yeah that's strange, should not be the case at all.
so what happened?
the bass is overwhelming if you turn it up and theres plenty at standard. must be something wrong

Can you test Lexus Mark Levinsin on a 2023 Lexus LS500?
Incredible. The car needs a matte screen cover though :D
Thanks for the video. Was really interesting
Car wagon APP lets you use the usb for music FYI
Which year was this high a quality system released?
how is it compared to a a6 Bang and Olufsen Advanced soundsystem ?

Surprising he would talk you out of spending more money. But maybe it was due to availability. Or sheer honesty :P

what tier levels mean ? bcs some car i see has A-B-S tiers ?
S is best, then A through F
V60 vs MDX sound system?
V60
What does it mean А/С/В-tier?
F/E/D/E/C/B/A/S. F is an iPhone 3g in a plastic cup, S is a Rolls Royce. C is "average."
@@DailyMotorSound Thanks for the explanation. What is the best sound system for you or top 3.
