Looks very much like the typically tasteless place not to go. I always remember having North American relative visit us in Scotland, upon visiting a famous caste, the remark was, 'My God, they've mad this attraction out of real stone', and to top that, 'How can you have an attraction with no burger stall?', says it all really.

it's both. it's a universal studios waterpark, but it's it own park. first there was Universal Studios, then Islands of Adventure, and now Volcano Bay

Probably Hollywood doesn't have enough space.....Orlando bought so much space up to use in the future but Hollywood bought only one space to fit everything so now Hollywoods space is used up unless they buy another lot which they should do if they want Volcano Island.

Universal doesn't have many rides and not much of them are fun but I love going there
Universal has more thrill rides than all 4 Disney parks.

@UniversalStudios can't wait! I'll have to take another trip soon as it opens!!!. I will say though that Universal Studios seriously needs to build a theme park in Central Texas! considering we have perfect year round weather and extremely high population with no theme parks or anything like that around anywhere / we are about to get one of the world's largest indoor water parks from Kalahari Resorts in Round Rock TX just outside of Austin and the city of round rock passed a law that hotels and resorts like this Kalahari theme park get to keep half their taxes and the city is helping with developments in the area including a giant lake for the restaurants businesses and the waterpark and resort. just saying Universal Studios Parks really need to get in on this because Central Texas has no theme parks and lots of business opportunities.

No explanation on the "No long lines". How will they accomplish this? Every waterpark I have been too has crazy long lines for the slides.
Go to a slide, scan wrist band, gives you a return time so you can do other stuff while virtually waiting. They are testing it currently at wet and wild.
They only let 50 people into the park at a time. There's no line inside, but the line to get into the park is murder.
I kinda wanna know this too...and more than just speculation. They're really gonna be pushing this as their third park and part of the complete "Universal" experience, plus with it being brand new and only one park...I can only picture it being massively crowded, especially in peak season.

There's no mountains in the background. Maybe you think Florida is completely flat but there are hills and such and that's what I see. Of course the water park itself has rock formations and the volcano. There are also clouds that in the beginning almost look like snow capped mountains...but upon closer inspection aren't.

The park isn't open yet and is still in construction...not even filled with water, so everything in the video is fake, except some foottage that they spliced in with the cgi.
and at 0:37 you can see the I-4 highway and all the hotels on International Dr will be gone and replaced with your typical Florida scenic mountain range. How is Universal going to pull this of?

I understand what you guys are saying but the video says "water theme park". Im sure people would get that. I think by promoting it as the 3rd theme park is just Universal's way of advertising the fact that it has a new park on site vs Wet n Wild's off-resort location.

F...k Universal. They told me this would be better then Wet n' Wild, but it's not. The only reason they closed that park was because they new this one would never be more or as popular as Wet n' Wild. I am not saying I would never go there, but they need to make some serious changes, and put more rides in the back. I don't understand why they didn't just relate some of the rides from Wet n' Wild to this park (that was very stupid). One more thing. NOT A THEME PARK!

There is also an email they sent out with a link back to the Universal site. It lists the names of the various rides. While the descriptions sound amazing, the names are a mouthful. Some are okay but others are just...I hope they reconsider the names of the rides. Keep the theme of course. Maybe once we hear them pronounced by a rep it will all fall into place. By the way I am most excited by a ride they call "TeAwa, The Fearless River."

PS, alligators would have to literally crawl miles, cross streets, and jump fences to get anywhere near this water park. Disney is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by swamps practically, Universal is in a rural area. Not the same.

That's right Tali, I personally love water parks, I live here and it is really hot 9 months out of the year. Like I said before, Wet and Wild closed on 12/31/2016.
I lived in FL most of my life (recently moved out) and I did like water parks when I was younger. Now, meh. I prefer the many beaches around Central FL. Do you remember River Country? That was the best one right there.

It's not its own theme park, there's just gonna be some rides.
The reason why Cali's Universal never gets crap is because it's incredibly small, it has so little space they'd have to stack rides on top of each other.
